What did you get from jackies mooloo. I think mine came today too but I was out. Have to wait to tomorrow to see it

I bought a bag of ribbons, some fringing, and 3 sets of the christmas fabric samples. ideal for the decorations I have been trying to make.
Mind you at the rate I am working they will be for next year now. I have about 7 or 8 for this year. Too much other stuff keeps getting in the way.

Hi, I posted this in the wrong place, but moonpenny suggested I post it here.

I've been wanting a sewing machine for a while and would love some advice. I have £50 birthday money but can top it up a bit.

I've never used a sewing machine before so the simpler the better, but hopefully I could get something not too flimsy for my money?

Ive seen this one in Argos http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...%3EBROTHER.htm

    and this in Hobbycraft http://direct.hobbycraft.co.uk/produ...ine_267864.htm

They are both £70 but I have a 25% off voucher for Hobbycraft. As i'm a complete novice I'm probably wrong but is the LS-2125 the better machine? Which one would people advise or is there a better beginners machine?

Just to give you an idea I do a lot of handsewing - fabric hearts, felt bits and bobs etc, just little projects; and I would like a machine to maybe tackle some bigger things like cushion covers etc.

I would really appreciate your help!!

I have the Brother machine from hobbycraft. I get along with it pretty well and it suits my needs fine, I've made clothes and little projects without any problem. I had limited sewing machine experience before I got this, and I found it simple to use.

As long as you're not planning any huge projects using thick material I think it's a good buy, especially with the voucher!
    Finally bought a home

    Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.47

Sorry, I don't know why they don't work. Maybe these will be better?
  • They seem to work this time!

Doesn't look like that much difference between them, so I'd go for the Hobbycraft with the 25% off voucher. I'm still using a 25 year old Singer which does nothing except go forwards, backwards and very labour intensive buttonholes and I've made skirts, tops, jackets, curtains, cushion cases and a loose cover on it.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I agree with Errata, they are basically the same machine, except one has a few extra stitches incorporated, but you will find the other one completely adequate. Or you should.
Good luck, and happy sewing!! :D
