Nice Moo! Saw one of these at my local craft fair last month and put it on my mental list of thinks to make
It took me most of yesterday evening to do, and then I finished off the bows and ribbons this morning. I suppose while watching TV it took me about 4 hours. But I did have a phone call, make some tea and put DGD back up to bed in between all of that.!:D
I also have a lot of extra fabric pieces as I didnt know how much to use. I put each colour into a different plastic bag, and so I can get the ones I want easily. So they can be stored until I want them if I want to make another one, or use some different fabrics as well.
I am thinking of some brighter fabrics next time. But as I have these already ripped up.....;)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Just want to say thanks for your tips - popped into charity shop today and picked up a lovely, looks brand new 100% decent cotton, king size sheet in white £4 and same material double duvet set with pillow cases in turquoise £5.0 - ok that colour I doubt hubby will use as hankies but loved the colour and plain no pattern so will think up what I can make with it. So in washing machine now and will start the hankies as soon as dry. Again thanksNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Lovely makes hmo, love the owls!!
Your wreath is lovely mooloo. I have the simply homemade mag too, but also have a rattan wreath, so not sure which way I'll be making mine...or when!!!
Not been sewing today, tracked down the labels on the computer I made last year and deciding whether to use them again this year. Will need to change the BBE date though!! Bagged up choc raisins & strawberry bon-bons, as well as some cat and dog biscuits, so tomorrow I will get some labels on them,
Want to make a few felt/fleece tree decs as well as some chocolate ones, so still plenty to do for the fair on Sunday. I have a couple more booked, but they are 2 and 3 weeks away, so plenty of time to top up supplies.
Feeling much better now after last week's op., though the infection this week set me back a few days. Now well and truly on the road to recovery...though still quite sore, and not allowed to drive, never mind carry things!
I have a busy day ahead, so need to get to bed soon. Happy stitching everyone!

Hi all, hope I can join this merry crew.
DH bought me the Aldi sewing machine when it was on special in September but I haven't been able to look at it as I have been ill since then. I got it out today as I had to sew some random patches on a tshirt (DC2 is a cow in the nativity.) It took some getting used to as I haven't used a machine in about 20 years or more and it isn't the most professional job but I was getting quite competant by the end. So I will have a go at practicing with some scrap material. Cheap tshirt material probably wasn't the best choice for a first use of the machine.
I must say looking through the manual if it can do all the things it says it can, it was a good buy.
Please can anyone tell me where the best place to get Christmas material from online. I fell in love with Fabric Rehab but then worked out the prices and nearly keeled over  Much as I love the material, I don't love the prices.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

We all have various favourite places for our fabrics. There are links and things on the No Chat Sewing Room thread, as well as lots of tutorials. Personally I use Croft Mills but thier choices are a bit random. They come in at around £5.99- £6.99 a metre.
Market stalls are also often around that price or cheaper. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
