Cuddles, they look great, fab idea!

Gosh Lolarosa, thats dreadful! Hope you manage to get it sorted.

Twistedcandyfloss, the light does get very hot on my machine too, but I have an on/off switch. (To actually switch the whole machine off I have to unplug it - the on/off switch just switches the light off)

Here's my machine cover, I did a faced opening for the carry handle which taxed my little pea-brain but I got there in the end:rotfl: Tutorial in my blog

Bad news guys, my accessories for my machine were stolen as the parcel was delivered to the wrong address and when they tried to get them back the woman wouldn't open the door. Police have been notified though.

Very annoyed and saddened as I was raring to go on all of the wonderful ideas on this thread :(

Sorry to hear that lolarosa. That's just terrible behaviour.

I contacted Sewing Machines Direct who I got them off and Russell said that it was the delivery company's fault as I said I was collect at the depot and that was processed before they put it in the van to be delivered! So he offered his apologies and am getting a new one sent out ASAP :D :j happy days :)

Thank you avstar - it's the first time I've made clothing too, and I'm rather proud! My husband only believed I made it as it was still unfinished when he got home.

It's from a pattern: New Look 6407 and it was dead easy! It's fitted at the front and back with some easy darts and the sleeves were very simple, I had to really think about the collar though - I need to understand why I'm doing it a certain way, if you know what I mean, before I can do it!

I'm definitely making more though, the next one is going to be in a pretty linen mix fabric with pink and blue check on it. Then I'm progressing to my 50s dress :D

  • Avstar, I love your machine cover, it looks really classy.

Pollyskettle, your shirt is lovely, I like the detailing on the sleeves.

Cuddles, your Christmas tree is great.
  • The shirt is absolutely beautiful, I thought it was a shop brought one until I read it!! Well done :) :T

The sleeve is much easier than it looks, I promise!

I *might* have just bought the fabric for two of the stockings. This is probably because I am sat at my desk hand-sewing some detail on the Christmas bunting and I'm pausing to browse every now and again!!
