My 4 year old grandson has just told me he wants a dragon costume!
Has anyone got any idea where I can get a (hopefully) free pattern to make one please?
I have made costumes before for my elder grandson, Batman, Ironman, elf, skeleton and Hulk are ones I can remember, but the patterns are long gone.
I thought I'd get some green jersey material and make a pyjama type top & bottom, but not sure how I'd do the head. Maybe make a hood? Should I make the spine & tail from sparkly material? What can I make the wings out of?
Thanks for reading0 -

Managed to sit at the sewing machine for about an hour and a half and started on the two saddle bags like the ones Rufusd!!!2 makes. I was hoping to have done more than I did, but at least I got started, and all the fabrics are cut out, just need to sort out the webbing for the straps and some zips. Seem to have every colour and length but the ones I want! Typical.
Will have a couple of hours tomorrow to continue sewing. So I hope that I will make further inroads. If I can sort out the zips of course.
Then there is a draught excluder that someone on here wanted me to make, so I need to see if I can find anything in my huge stash of fabrics to make it with. She has a colour scheme that is beiges and reds I think she said. Anyway, we will see how I get on.
Happy sewing all. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi,
I'm a teacher and I think it's lovely you are thinking about making something handmade. Unfortunately I'm a secondary school teacher and no-one buys us things anyway as it's not cool to be seen to like your teachers!
I use loads of tote bags for marking and I never seem to have enough so that would be a good idea. Or a make-up bag or a jewellry roll or an apron - in fact I would be so overjoyed someone had bothered to make me a homemade gift I don't think I would care exactly what! hth
Hi thanks ive always made teachers and brownie leaders gifts for christmas dont have to do brownies this year as dd gave it up this summer, which i was sad about but she does other things that she says she enjoys more.0 -

Mooloo, good luck with the bags. I have some cut out up stairs but I was waiting on getting the black out lining from DM as I used that in the last lot I did and they came out feeling quite nice. I have to get on with my sofa tomorrow, going to start stripping the fabric off so I wont get them started for a while but they will be ready when I do get time. I cant really sew on the machine upstairs at the moment anyway as OH is back on nights again.0
