Thank you Poppy, I can picture the costume you are talking about. It sounds fairly easy to adapt to a PJ type base costume.

Thank you as well Tamster. The picture of the little boy in his black & blue dragon suit is so sweet. Not sure my grandson would look as sweet though!

I did find a costume pattern online, but the wings were made from an umbrella. I remember making my daughter a very effective bat costume one Halloween using an old umbrella for the wings, but she was much older (about 11 or 12) and I dread to think what her son would do with an umbrella on his back!

My 4 year old grandson has just told me he wants a dragon costume!
Has anyone got any idea where I can get a (hopefully) free pattern to make one please?
I have made costumes before for my elder grandson, Batman, Ironman, elf, skeleton and Hulk are ones I can remember, but the patterns are long gone.

I thought I'd get some green jersey material and make a pyjama type top & bottom, but not sure how I'd do the head. Maybe make a hood? Should I make the spine & tail from sparkly material? What can I make the wings out of?

    Thanks for reading :)

Click Here for a pattern using top and bottoms.

Certainly enough to give you some good ideas.

I bought some fabric yesterday too, but its for our sofa and I got what I think is a bargain. The patterned fabric we saw in DM was £14.99 a metre and we bid on an end of roll on Ebay with 9.5 metres on it and won it for £65.99 inc pp costs. I was so excited last night, it is exactly what we were looking for to make the actual seat and back cushions out of. We are going to use plain for the rest of the sofa and have seen some of this on Ebay too on a buy it now for £6.99 a metre instead of £12.99 in DM.

When we were in DM at the weekend I bought the black out lining I wanted and then spotted some bags of remnants. We went to a different store than we usually go to and their bags were packed much more than the other store so I bought a bag for £2.99. There was quite a bundle of different fabrics in there which will be useful for my cushion making.

I had a quick flick through this thread on the way to work this morning... amazing thread!! I've never been so inspired :p Can't wait to sit down and start sewing. But alas my sewing machine came yesterday just not the materials. So Saturday will be my crafty day!

My ma has also given me the old gym to turn into a crafts room! I am in heaven :)

If anyone needs me you know where to find me ^_^

    Afternoon

Not been on here for a while as I've been knitting, but recently dusted off the sewing and crafting stuff to do some Christmas things.

    Started with these

They look great, but how did you make them and what are they?
