That's what I've been doing as well, building a stash up, as, isn't it frustrating when you get the urge to make and the right fabrics arn't there. That's what I think anyway :p

An extra room eh....have you got the shelves all measured out yet;)

Step away from the fabric Mooloo :rotfl:
Sorry that your arm is sooo painful must be frustrating for you. Hope you can get some relief soon. We just saw a leaflet in Llidl and they have a shawl type of electric blanket to put around the shoulders which I thought was a great idea. Don't know when the offer is on tho as I didn't see any in my store. Would this be helpful to you?

I try so hard to stop, then I am just Window Shopping on the net, and the next thing I know I have pressed the buy it or bid on it buttons- is there an AA for sewing Addicts? The arm is a pain caused from a pain in the neck. !!

    Hi everyone :D

Ive not abandoned you all, just been very busy working extra shifts, at least it will be extra money as Im like you MooLoo I spend too much on fabric :o I tried to be good and make myself use up what I have 1st but it's not working, Im addicted :rotfl:
I hope your arm feels better soon better soon

Mysk :D The baby carrier is lovely :D

I hope to do a lot of sewing this weekend :D
Im keeping up with you all and hope to put some pic's on soon :D

Well, I still haven't managed to get an action shot, am hoping to tomorrow, but we'll see. Depends if I can leave work on time (2pm officially but anything up to 4pm - unpaid!) not unusual...

Mooloo, I'm so sorry it's too painful to see, you have my sympathy... Have you tried heatpacks? The kind you boil and then snap to release the heat? And a fab phrase! Fabricholic - I'm definitely one too! Alexander Henry is catching my eye at the moment... Although I'm not sure baby carriers with psychedelic skulls on would really work!

I had some bad news yesterday, OH possibly in the line for redundancy - but after a mad panic last night, and some quick advice from MSE (as ever!) I think we can cope for a while if the worst happens. It just seems to be one thing after another at the moment, but my stash will see me through :) I have a girls night out on Friday to look forward to though, which will be fab (if not a little drunken, but very MSE it's half price wine on Fridays :-)

Good project vibes to all, may your seam rippers forever languish at the bottom of the box...

I have an electric plug in pad, and I have microwaveable pads too, so I do try all the different things. But I keep trying EVERYTHING to be able to sew again.
Sorry to hear your bad news, you will need to be creative and very MSE but your in the right place for all the advise, (well not the sewing thread- we all spend too much on fabric!!)

    Hello all.
I have not sewn at all on my machine yet and I haven't given it a service either. It's still just sitting under the desk.
But yesterday I bought Amy Butler's Style Stitches: 12 Easy Ways to 26 Wonderful Bags as I really like the bag on the cover and want to make it. I was thinking about the Bag Making Bible but none of the bags really jumped at me so might by that later as I've heard it's a really good book.
I also want to buy some knitting needles and a crochet hook and start making stuff. Will write about any progress when it happens... :)

  • I have to use a tens machine as I have problems with my arms and shoulders. I find it really helpful of an evening if my shoulders and arms are hurting, I cant use it on my arm though as its too painful. I had to have two operations on my elbow and one on my shoulder a few years ago.

My sewing machine has turned up, I am well pleased as I they only picked it up on Monday. I havent had a chance to have a go on it yet though, I spent all morning cutting out some bags and linings, then just as I finished the bloke knocked on the door with the machine. I was too knackered by then to start sewing and I have a busy weekend so it might be Monday morning before I get a chance to try it out.

I have an old machine in the loft that a friend gave me, I was wondering whether to get it out and use it for sewing up the bits of bags etc that don't show like the inner seams and save my new one for doing the top stitching etc.

I love it...used the office organiser bag that I made from it today, folks were most impressed!! :D

Well done on cutting out all the material rufus...I might do that tomorrow. After all, I now have plenty of material! ;)

Went down to the shop that I do the IT work for (it's a material shop and 25 miles away, so only visit once a month ;)). I was so good, I resisted everything and left without going near my purse. :A But then, after the boss took me out for lunch, we had to pop back in, and I have to report I succumbed and got a Morris Tapestry jelly roll from Moda, as well as some freezer paper. Still, I did get a reasonalbe staff discount, so it could have been worse. :o Oh, and I did sign up for a workshop in November too, but wont have to pay until closer to the day :D.

Need to go to bed soon as I have to take DS2 to college tomorrow morning...DH usually does it, but he's away star-gazing until Sunday. :)

Here is the material that I've just received. Holding back from cutting it as I want it for a winter project (along with all the other projects :o) They colours are so zingy and not what I would normally go for, so now I'm officially out of my comfort zone and loving it:D
