Keiss, thats my mums name too! You are the only other person Ive come across with that name. My nickname is Pootle cause Im quite wee (and loved The Flumps when I was younger.) so I decided on Pootle Handmade. It doesnt sound very business like though but Im not fussed!! Its very "me". Llana and Floss sounds really good and very professional sounding. I like it! Love your bag.
Trying not to open the Jackies fabrics link!!!
p.s Georgia, Ive not had the e-mail either from Folksy so technically I havent been officially informed!
Edit: Damnit, I opened it! Love the Jungle Babies fabric. Wish I knew someone with a baby!0 -
I just opened up the thread to ask for recommendations for places to buy fabric, what a coincidence. I've already spent too many pennies at Jackies Fabrics, but they were all in the sale!:money:
Thank you!0 -

For the first time, I'm reading this in real time, so it's worth me looking at the fabric sale!
Not managed to do any sewing yet, but am making a plan. I'm currently decorating my DS's bedroom, which seems to be taking ages.
I've been having a wonder around though and found these:

http://www.accuquilt.com/
I don't remember if they've been posted before. There's patterns and tutorials on both.
I also have a question, I'm looking for some cheap polar fleece in small amounts to make some patchwork cushion covers for DS's room. Any ideas, I only want a very small amount of each colour, so don't want to buy lots of it.
Thanks in advance.0 -
Afternoon all
I had a lovely time at the quilt fair, there were so many gorgeous quilts to admire. There was also a big marquee full of stalls selling fabrics, it was like walking into a mini heaven. I was in there over an hour drooling lol. I bought myself 4 metres of gorgeous japanese print fabrics, one metre of each, here are some photos showing what I got. the colours look much more vibrant than the photos.
The first two are a deep red and the second is a cream with pinks and blues. All of them have a bit of metallic gold on them. They were only £5 a metre. I am hoping to make bags of some kind out of them using both fabrics but not sure yet how to make them or what kind. I was thinking of making bags for my two sisters for their Christmas presents for next year (I am ahead of myself lol) so these would be perfect for them.
When I got home, I had a look on the Jackies page that the link was for earlier and ordered some more bits from there too. I ordered loads of interfacing as it was really cheap and I use a lot of that. Also I ordered a bit of fabric that was listed as dressmaking fabric, I am hoping to get myself a top out of that, and then there were two other fabrics I got a metre of each of to make more bags from. These will be for two of my nieces (again to put by for next year). Hopefully by the time they come my machine will be mended and I can get on with making them up.
My bro was telling me while we were out that he has got to know a woman who has opened a shop near us and is selling a few craft bits in it. He said did I want him to ask whether she would be willing to have a look at some of my stuff so I said it wouldn't hurt asking. The shop is really out of the way though, not on a busy road so I don't know what her business is like. I have some cushion covers made up already that I could get pads for to show her if she is interested. If not I can always put them on that new shop site Pootle introduced me too.
Off to do a bit of knitting.0 -
So, I have finished with the vinyl... And I made one if these :-) for a friend whose 14 month old (small with it, though...) HATES not to be carried at all times. Hope she likes this!

Cow print vinyl is the exterior, two colours of denim for the strap and lining. I'll see her Tuesday, will try and get an action shot!0 -
