https://www.tabberone.com contains a number of very clear articles regarding copyright. Makes an interesting read, although I am unsure how much applies in the UK.0

Still a bit confused about copyright rules, so have decided to only try and sell stuff I have permission to sell already (eg Amelie etc bags) and things I have designed myself...though it is a tricky one!!
Will post piccies of my first Amelie bag once I have found Picasa, I was sure I had it on my laptop!!
Have a great day everyone x

Im sure that the Simplicity patterns Ive bought are OK to sell (or at least thats what the woman in John Lewis told me when I bought them!!! lol)
TBH Im not overly concerned anyway and the new rules wont prevent me listing if I decide to. Given the number of books that are out there these days showing techniques for different bags etc (like The Bag Making Bible) I can easily just make my own patterns up anyway. The last bag is the first one that Ive actually used a pattern that Ive purchased. Others have been a mixture of techniques and stuff that you just learn as you go then hope for the best!
Have a good weekend everyone. x0 -
I haven't had the email from Folksy, so if I hadn't read about it on here I wouldn't know about the new rules.0

I had forgotten that I didn't have Picasa on my laptop, but now I have, so here are some piccies of the bag I made for my niece:
There were some marks on the stripey material (reduced curtains from D-M), so I sewed on some daisies to hide them!!
Been thinking about a name for my business again. I had thought about "Garom Design" (my name reversed), but think it sounded too masculine. What do people think of "Llana & Floss"? They are my family's first Golden Retriever when I was a kid, and my present one! Also Llana is spanish for wool, and Floss is embroidery thread. Since I knit and sew, very appropriate ..... cool eh!!Even DH likes this name...so might be adopting it...watch this space!
How did those of you with business names come up with them? It's amazing how it can take ages to come up with one!!

Lovely bag, really like the striking colours. My other name is Tillyflopscreations. When my daughter was a toddler, we used to call her Tillyflops. So hence the name, i just added the creations.x0

Keiss, your bag is gorgeous! Those daisies are a great idea to hide the marks; it looks all part of the design.0

My business name is Braddlebury Crafts. It is the old Victorian name of an area in the place where I live. I found it in a History book about the local area.
Cheers
