Oooh Mysk that's even worse, I'm a sucker for a remnant!
Gonna go back (on my own) so I can spend ages at the fabric and everywhere else really, T'other half doesn't have the patience for my shopping style :rotfl:0 -
They have really nice tea towels I've used before to make drawstring bags? Proper thick ones with nice borders, brilliant for children's PE kits, and many many other things :-) I got 6 for £1 last time I was there, sold 3 bags to a friend for £4 each, so even with the cord I came out ahead. Still got 2 left, might make them up and see if anyone wants them :-)0

Ikea do fab offcuts as well! I always have to be physcially dragged past that bit... But I also am about 50 miles from an Ikea, equidistant from 2, like Keiss, so it is a real effort to get there. And I have to be child free, nothing worse than whiny children in Ikea! They have really nice tea towels I've used before to make drawstring bags? Made another bag (this is the one that I stitched wrong to begin with!) The top band lining is the scottie dog stuff but thought Id use some coordinating spotty stuff for the main part of the lining and pocket. This one is going on Folksy before one of my friends snaffles it!! Have made some bookmarks but my silhouette needs a new blade so Ive been stopped in my tracks as planned on putting some writing on them. Will post piccies once my new blade arrives. Hope you all having a good week. x0

Lovely bag Pootle xx
My sewing has been put on hold, glad I started some knitting. I thought I would have another go at sorting out my sewing machine this morning, took the bottom all to bits and cleaned everything, ran new bobbin and rethreaded it all up and it was making such a racket, the top was missing stitches and the bottom was looping up like mad so I rang up Singer and they said to pack it up and they would come and collect it on Monday and have a look at it. So I doubt I will have it back until the week after now so it will give me a chance to get on with this cardigan instead.
Shame as I am going to a quilt show at Hever Castle on Sunday and will probably have to buy some fabrics lol, and then I would be itching to make something out of it. Never mind, cant be helped.0 -
Pootle the bag is gorgeous and the label is a fab finishing touch. :T
I adore the scottie dog fabric - anything scottie dog has a special place in my family as my mum unintentionally makes that shape while eating toast...don't ask!
Rufus hope your machine is mended soon and back with you, and have a great time at the quilt show.0 -
Pootle your bag is gorgeous!
Avstar, I chuckled at your mum making the shape of a scottie dog while eating toast!0 -

Nice bag pootle. I think I have that pattern.
Here is my first attempt at a sock monkey - I made him last year but forgot to share him with you.
I would love to know the secret to getting the mouth neat & professional looking, but it seems that all the "proper" sock-monkey-makers have their own techniques that they prefer to keep secret! (if anyone wants to PM with their "secret" I promise not to tell) lol
and this is another little make of mine, that I did in the Summer...
it is a kit that I bought at last years Stitch & knit show at The Alexandra Palace. More details you know where.0
