handsewn I grew up with them too! :) It feels weird that there won't be anymore but I can't wait to see pottermore! Is it good?

Love the bag mooloo I commented on your blog but I will ask here too do you know where the instructions are from? It is just the sort of bag I am looking to make for my honeymoon

Hi, Rufusdog made up the instructions for me!.
Then I addapted it with the things that I wanted to add to it.

The fabric is a cath Kidston one, but I cannot remember its name. I had made Molly a walking stick bag in it previously, so I thought that she could have a matching set!.
I have used it in some of my other creations as well as I got about 6 metres of it when I bought it. Not that much left now though. Maybe a metre and a half.

i am not really into HP but as i said i was curious when my dd watched the film at the end of a HP themed party.

But as ive got 4 books from my cousin i thought i would read them.

i found they made me laugh in places and i got into the story, dont think i will br running out to buy the rest of the books but have enjoyed them so far.

If you are reading them in the correct order, then I cannot recommend that you do end up getting the rest eventually. The books take on a more adult approach once Order of the Phoenix ends and they get better.

I can admit that when Harry Potter first came out, I was totally not into it at all and even laughed at a cheesy cardboard cut-out of him when I passed it in the cinema as a 17 year old.

*edit* Going to try some more embriodery tonight and my new attempt at sewing shorts was a success. I have a doll that needs her 'face-up' doing before I can start on sewing her some new clothing, should be a busy weekend!

I have not sewn today - busy writing listings for Ebay.
Moo-loo - six metres of Cath Kidston fabric - wow! It is so pricey - I thought I did well when I bought two metres plus my daughter bought me one.
Handsewn - where did you get your Moda scrap bag please?

    Hi everyone
I've been a long time lurker in this thread and have been inspired by you all. I've started dabbling again with the sewing machine and am becoming obsessed! I've sent a request to join your Facebook group if that is ok?!

Hi, I bought mine off Ebay. The seller also has an online shop (outside of Ebay) but I am not sure if they sell them through the shop yet. Just search for 'Moda scrap' and you will find the option that I paid £9.55 for.

Cannot recommend her enough. Arrived within two days, included a free brooch she had made out of a yo-yo maker and she also sent me a lovely message.

I opted for the light color mix and I managed to get fabrics from across a range of Moda designs rather than just from one designer. (florals, tiny prints, block colors...even a pumpkin one that will be used this halloween!)

Hmo, love the quilt esp the zigzag quilting.

    Mooloo, the bag is gorgeous!

Love HP and have read all the books, still got to see Deathly Hallows part 2 film tho. I've heard its fab :j

Well I still haven't managed to get any sewing done but I did organise my recent fabric/sewing supplies. So here's some pics of my hauls

    IMG_3123.jpg

These are both wierd laminated/PVC type fabrics, one beige leather-look was given by a friend and the other gingham coated type material I bought in Dunhelm mill for 50p. Think I'll need some special feet for these (sewing feet that is..)

    IMG_3122.jpg

These are fabrics my mum gave me, a lightweight woollen suiting, heavyweight denim, and 2 cotton ginghams

    IMG_3121.jpg

This is a pair of curtains that were mega cheap in Argos (I posted the link way back) and I think these will become an apron among other things.

    IMG_3118.jpg

These are a few cheapies I bought in Lidl from their recent sewing supplies promotions they do quite regularly, various cottons with matching bobbins (not very big spools but useful for the range of colours) also had some denim and normal machine needles in the pack. Various widths of elastic, plus white & black velcro. Can't remember prices but only a couple of quid.

Any ideas for any of it please? I normally buy what I need so the donated fabrics are stumping me a little :rotfl:
