Help to rehome our dog

Hiya everyone
just after a little help we are needing to re-home our dog he is about 2 years old cross breed terrier and not sure what else i think its a whippet he is a medium sized dog great fun dog to have but due to our lives changing we can no longer keep him.

after the new year we will be both leaving the house at 07.00 to 07.30 and my wife will be first back home around 18.00hrs so that gonna be 11hrs the dog will be at home all alone which is just not fair for him so we are looking to re home any suggestions welcome he has been rehomed 3 times before we got him because he has a chewing up everything well he did but that is pretty much sorted now, he does have the odd slip up though.

any suggestions very welcome we just want a good home for him and plenty of exercise and someone who can take care of him on the medical front and have time to play with him he is a very loving dog excellent will adults children and babies alike

Rather than making this dogs life a nightmare again by trying to rehome him - get a dog walker. this would be his 5th home in 2 years which is really unfair for him but a dog walker could go in and split up his day - unless of course you want rid of the dog?

My neighbours pay £13 per hour 5 times a week so £20 a week sounds cheap.

You are going to struggle to find a rescue place at such short notice, is there any chance you could move closer to one or both workplaces? That would surely be better for your health and your relationship with one another as well as for the dog.

You say he has been rehomed a few times? So why not get back to the rescue that you got him from.

  • The rescue centres will be overwhelmed after Christmas and some may even have to put dogs down.

I'd be responsible and find the £20 per week until you can find a definite new home for him.
  • Have you tried a friend/neighbours ? also when i was young i would walk dogs for a few quid a week after school you could put a ad in the local paper. also try a oap centre some people would love to look after a dog without the full time costs or commitment.
