so you want all the workers sacked?
theres loads of couriers out there
as for being closed well so is RM
shall we get some competition for them as well and sack the staff too
if the company decided the roads were too risky then thats their decision
if only my company had the same thoughts i wouldnt have a broken finger now,but hey theres plenty of unemployed to replace me

Custardy : This may be your job I don't know, what I do know is your selective in your reading interpretation. I DID NOT suggest anyone be sacked.
Quote: they can't cope with the work they have.
DHL is competition for RM and they can't cope, with another contract what can we expect !!! Give the plenty other couriers the work.
There's still a lot of unemployment out there, maybe its time they had some competition.
I agree if road conditions are bad then drivers shouldn't be put at risk. Traffic was still moving from Edinburgh, Glasgow to Aberdeen but not from Perth.
Had DHL had a contact number I would have collected it myself, try contacting them, emails haven't been answered either.

traffic maybe moving but that doesnt mean its fine for delivery
just because the 'main' routes are open
what about the actual streets for delivery?
all the residential streets i have been on in Edinburgh are still untreated
    vans are getting stranded daily

i fell again today,so more bruises and pains with the ones from xmas eve
but the routes are open so its all fine isnt it?

No problems at all. The best was Amazon. Ordered late evening Sunday 20th, "will not arrive in time for Christmas, delivery 29th-31st" (wasn't really bothered as it was an impulse bargain), despatched Royal Mail Tues 21st and arrived 24th. Spot on from everyone.

No real problems apart from the Sainsbury's £6 off your christmas shop vouchers. I had 3 and was only allowed to use one despite the vouchers having "vouchers can be redeemed together" printed across the front. Was a big queue behind me so couldn't split the shopping up and put it through again either.
  • City Link. Possibly THE worst delivery service for London, E1 and E1W I have ever had the displeasure of having to use.

They even lied about trying to deliver to me yesterday (2 hrs after their deliveries stop!). Unfort for them I was in my hallway painting it - with the front door wide open (as was doing the back of that, too) so the invisible delivery driver and his invisible card got busted :D

    Lol.
  • Silkcutblue, City Link do that all the time here, as do DHL, but seeing as I cannot get to a City Link depot as I don't drive, whereas I can at least access the DHL depot by bus, I don't like to complain too much about the DHL issue in case the contract goes to City Link instead. Both have pretended to try and deliver to me (and not leave a card) when I have been outside my front door at the time of the alleged "attempted delivery."
  • The Entertainer toyshop (via their amazon storefront). I ordered two items on the 6th December (you'd think in plenty of time for christmas...) Alledgedly despatched on the 8th.

Gave up waiting the Friday before Christmas, ordered same items from John Lewis and they arrived on the Monday.

The stuff from the Entertainer has still not arrived (obviously I really don't care now anyway) but they didn't respond to my emails either. Awful service, won't be using them again! Have put in an A-Z Amazon guarantee claim thingy for a refund.

CD Wow, oredered 14th, dispatched 16th..... no show.
    MIL will be pleased :o

Most impressive delivery was Woolworths: 29 hours from placing the order!

I once ordered something from CD-Wow ( A few years ago now), it was a t-shirt for a friend's birthday. Ordered in October, friend's birthday was in the November. After numerous emails back and forth back and forth, I finally recieved the t-shirt in MARCH!!! How ridiculous is that?!

Of course you can, the customer always being right. It is not your fault the checkout person is being awkward is it?

  • Tesco did not deliver on the Sunday before Christmas.
Many calls next day, eventually very helpful store person re-arranged for delivery within the hour.

Service quality survey email arrived from Tesco few days ago.
Told them about failed delivery, yesterday Tesco emailed me codes for £15 off next shop. !!:j
