just wanted to say thanks to dave the electrician in southport - all my downstairs sockets went off after i plugged in some faulty tree lights, no one would come out to sort it (as it was xmas eve) but when i phoned dave he talked me through what i needed to do (simply re set the trip switch in the garage!!) and hey presto our xmas was back on track - so you see there is a santa and he appears when you most need him!! Thanks Dave0

Nothing major but I bought Wii play in tescos for an extra remote for the Wii I got my kids for Xmas and the security tag is still on the box for the game so I can't get the disc out. Wii play comes in a larger box which has seals as it includes a remote and the game box is inside. I didn't know the game boxes had a security tag (we just got the Wii this year but it was from Argos - no tags on any stuff from there) on it as we didn't open it til this morning as it was a pressie. AM going to have to hope I can search my drawers/purse for the receipt (bought it a month ago so goodness knows where I put the receipt) so I can go back in and get the tag taken off. Complete pain, kids can't play the game. At least they have the games we got with the Wii bundle in Argos to be getting on with.0

Most deliveries have been sbsolutely fine - only gripe was with HDNL who left OH's DAB radio on the doorstep
On the other end of the scale, ordered a watch and a fridge magnet for OH from Leicester Tigers shop at 2.50 am on Tuesday, parcel turned up 10.30 am on Wednesday as promised - nice one Royal Mail!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -

An update on my Boots Saga
Spoke to Boots.com offices. they day that if the order goed onto more than 1 parcel, they only scan 1 barcode (as 2nd and futher parcels would be off the same order), and it looks like both my parcels were dispatched at the same time, but when I went to get them from Boot store they only gave me the one box, and come xmas eve tidying the store room, getting sale stuff ready, they found the parcel - alarm bells - and panicked.
As a goodwill gesture the chocolates that would be on 3 4 2, I n have the 3rd box myself, I can keep the 2 free Rimmel make up sets and they also refunded 15% off the order, after all the 342s it still cam to 110 quid,
So for once problem sorted and I' get the better deal. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
THE TOYSHOP/THE ENTERTAINER
Ordered really moneysaving gift for OH DB, ordered on 19th Dec, assured 21st was last day for ordering before Xmas, no sign of it, emailed them 22nd, got a reply on THE 24TH saying "sorry, there is no possibility you will receive this before Xmas"

Ordered a mobile phone from Play.com on 16th December as a Christmas present, was notified of dispatch on 17th December, delivery within 3-5 working days (i.e. 24th at latest). No sign, and there won't be any deliveries until this Tuesday at the earliest.
Looking back through the emails, Play.com never actually promised Christmas delivery, but on Monday 14th there was an email advertising "last week for Christmas shopping" which strongly implies that orders placed that week would arrive in time for Christmas. It's doubly annoying as there's no option to pay for faster delivery. Also, Amazon.co.uk were slightly cheaper but didn't appear to be able to deliver before Christmas, so I went for Play.
Never again...0 -
Let down by boots.com and currys.com
Ordered a late present from currys in 19th Dec to be delivered on 22nd Dec. Never came and i have no email confirmation etc. (although my cashback tracked and i have the order number written down.) Rang them and they had no record if my delivery. Ordered from elsewhere 24hrs before Christmas and it did arrive. midday Christmas eve currys rang me to tell me that their system had lost all orders made online between 12 and 4 on the 19th, and they wouldn't be delivering the item (well no it was supposed to arrive on the 22nd i guessed it wasn't turning up) but would i like to reorder and have it delivered in the new year. No. calling on Christmas eve doesn't really help the situation as it was a gift!
Boots.com.
i have ordered lots of things from boots.com before no problems. This time oh dear. 2 big thrill hat boxes had items missing. sold out everywhere, not great because they were gifts. (to be fair they refunded money onto my advantage card to buy replacement products but it was 1 day before Christmas and i had no time to replace them), so gifts were given with an IOU. I expected better, the gifts should have been complete in the first place.
Another order was a fcuk bag with things inside it. One pot broken and shower cream everywhere. Only discovered on Christmas eve. They refunded some money to buy a replacement item but it was out if stock everywhere. So not very happy about that either.0 -
Dixons (of course - I really should have known better). From the moment I placed the online order for a Flip video carema, it was clear some twerp had entered the wrong product code on their system as the automatic confirmation showed the wrong model.
There then ensued the usual DSG saga of ignored e-mails and expensive phone calls, trying to explain to them what theu had done. Of course, they still sent the wrong product, which I promptly returned.
Amazon were faultless, OTOH - almost all our other presents came via Amazon and all were bang on time.
The sooner DSG gets out of the consumer's hair, the better.0 -
DHL is my vent, and their non-existent communication ie no contact number to query or complain as I'd have gone and collected it myself. There tracking states adverse conditions @ 2pm on 24th, but I can see the motorway from my window and traffic's still moving and there's no snow !!!. Today (28th) their still closed. I see they've won a new contract so users be prepared for more non DHL deliveries, they can't cope with the work they have how can companies want to use them ?. There's a lot of unemployment out there, maybe its time they had some competition.0
