Which company has let you down this Christmas?

CD Wow - ordered a cd exactly a month ago today (24th November). Got an update the next day saying it had been back-ordered. Checked their website a day later and it was showing as 'in stock'. Still not arrived (don't think it has even been dispatched yet?)

Let down by DHL who have three days running claimed adverse conditions for being unable to reach me. The fact that every other delivery agency has been running doesn't seem to make them think they can get through. Bang goes the Christmas Cake from M&S.

Most impressive delivery was Woolworths: 29 hours from placing the order!

CD Wow.
Preordered a DVD on Nov 22nd and they took the payment immediately. It was released on Dec 7th but they didn't dispatch until the 9th. I've not received it yet and they've not answered my email. However, I paid via Paypal and opened a Paypal dispute last night which they've quickly acknowledged saying that they only consider the DVD as being delayed.

I have to sing the praises of everyone I have ordered from - no company has let me down.

Mind you, I did help save myself the worry by ordering most things with plenty o time. The only last min item I ordered was from M&S, which was an estimated Xmas Eve delivery - but they were 2 days early, so top marks to them

Had a couple of things delivered last minute but thankfully everything I ordered has arrived in time for the big day.

Ordered spade and fork from Gardener's World for grandson on 5.12; chased last week and got email advising items despatched 17.12; chased hard yesterday and today and it seems the spade was despatched via DHL 11.12 and has been returned following, quote, 17 (yes, "seventeen"!!!!) attempts at delivery. (Thought we'd missed a few months and arrived at 1.4 somehow) and the fork has not been despatched at all. Seems the world does have a number of charlatans and people who find it easier to tell lies than simply do their jobs. No-one was able to advise of the words to use with our grandson

Surely a lot of these problems are Royal Mail, not the dispatching company. If it's been posted to you, the retailer's done everything they can.

That said, we've had no real problems, only real one was with Play who seem to be doing the "it's in stock, but we're not goiung to send it yet" fiasco. We cancelled eventually, ordered the same thing from the Hut... and they've sent something that looks like it's been opened, then re-sealed with a cheapo shrink-wrapping machine (a PS3 game that arrived... but wasn't sealed in official PS branded wrap).

I'm with 'Louise' on this - no-one let me down but then I order on-line in early November otherwise I feel I've let myself down, don't want any of my family to be disappointed and I won't be tearing my hair out with the stress. Anything not here by beginning of Dec can easily be purchased from the shops instead.......I leave all the last minute stuff to others! :snow_laug

Not being clever, I just cannot abide our shopping centre after the first week of Dec, every man and his blinking dog within a 100 mile radius comes over to shop, I can't park then can't walk 2 paces without someone getting in my way arghhhh.
