Royal Mail. Well I presume Royal Mail as my orders from play.com were despatched 18 December. Only 1 item out of 4 has arrived. Why the heck don't play.com just put ALL your order in one parcel and send it together, instead of individual items in individual envelopes....grrr!

Also paid over £10 to send some very very important legal documents through work for guaranteed 9am delivery (i.e. to be delivered yesterday). Still not arrived with the recipient.

I've been fortunate this year, everything has arrived. Last item ordered was from the book people last week and delivered the next day as always.
  • HMV

I placed an order on the 10th December, for an xbox game that was in stock and ready for immediate despatch.

I hadn't had a despatch notification by the 14th, so I logged into my account, which said "on special order with our suppliers". I called customer services and was told "oh yes, it will definitely arrive before christmas, don't worry.

Still no sign of it, so I called on Monday, to be told that it will arrive sometime in Jan

It was too late to order online from anywhere else.

I won't be shopping there again.
  • PIXmania have let me down with a late/lost delivery.

I ordered my brothers Christmas present on 13/12/09. An e-mail from PIXmania says that it was despatched on 14/12/09 and that I can check on its progress with the courier (DHL) using the tracking number on the attached invoice. Problem is that there is no tracking number on the invoice!

It's now Christmas Eve and there is no sign of my parcel. An e-mail sent to PIXmania enquiring about the delivery has gone unanswered.

Apparently PIXmania are part of the DSG Group (Currys, PC World, Dixons, etc.). Had I known this I would have avoided them like the plague, given their appalling reputation for customer service. Needless to say, I shan't be ordering anything from them ever again.

I take it all back....my OH has just confirmed all play.com parcels have just arrived :) woo hoo
  • Thanks for the responses all, looks like there are some names cropping up a fair bit like Play.com for example.

I was curious to know how others had fared this year. I had a horrendous experience with Boots Kitchen Appliances but I haven't calmed down enough about it to relive it without sending my blood pressure through the roof so I'll wait till the New Year before I post the sorry saga.

I know the vent board is here so people can warn others about bad service and issues but I figure sometimes people are actually so grateful to finally get their orders that they want to just forget it or they think it's just a one off. I guess I'm just being nosy to see if there are "repeat offenders" - and it's sure looking like there are a few!

  • Thankfully - nobody!

Just been around to the RM delivery office to pick up the last delivery and that's my xmas shopping complete. So, top marks to:

    - Amazon
    - Several of Amazon's merchants
    - Hotel Chocolat
    - Royal Mail
    - DHL
    - City Link

  • I'm impressed with Amazon - ordered some CDs for my brother and one of them had a cracked case, so I filled in the item returns form and they despatched a replacement by first class post - it arrived yesterday.

So top marks to Amazon and Royal Mail too from me!

Sadly my La Redoute Christmas blanket has not arrived. I got a delivery from them today, so was pleased but unfortunately it's just a sheet I ordered at the same time, the blanket won't be despatched until next week. Guess they couldn't keep up with the demand after it was posted on here.
