Expressing Halterneck. XXL but size guide seems a bit off, I'd say more of an L. Only got it out the pack to try it on, it was too small (curse these enormous things!):

Edit: Oh, I see what I did. I thank everyone so I know where I'm up to - and TBH I'm so used to seeing them that I didn't even register it as weird and didn't look to see who'd posted it. There's so much friendly eye-rolling and confusion in this thread that it didn't occur to me that there was a meanie about.

Oooh, I was just bemoaning the Coast sale and how I couldn't buy anything. Explained to OH my fill-the-basket-then-close-the-window strategy when he asked !!!!!! I was doing shopping if I wasn't buying, and went off to the kitchen. Came back and he'd bought me everything in my basket :A:D:j

Oh dear, even MSE has been taken over by the PC police, we wont be able to talk about xmas this year in case we offend people of other religions next!

Have just been to the harvester for a disastrous lunch with my friend and Seth, he refused to sit in the highchair so had to sit on my lap, refused to eat anything off the salad cart, ate half a slice of garlic bread and chucked my peas all over the floor, tantrumming cos I pushed my plate further away and he couldnt grab them, screamed so much when I drank my diet coke and wouldnt let him grab the glass that the people at the next table asked to be moved and then ate most of my chips! I am never taking him out for lunch in public again! Should have just got a dominoes

Yeah don't really see my mum much - she stayed a week when T was a week old and we spent time over Christmas but it was a bit hectic. I keep telling T that mummy needs mummy cuddles. I think those with family nearby are so lucky I knew it would be hard living so far away but I didn't think it would be this bad- I think having my mum pop in for an hour or so every so often would be wonderful.

Sami - I know I should but I don't feel I can at the mo. When I come back from Wales OH is going to take a couple of days off so we can have family time and if I still feel the same I promise you (and myself) that I will get in touch with the HV for then I know it is something more than just missing my family a bit.

I don't really understand what's going on with my sister she was due Thurs 14th Jan (dates can't be wrong as its down to IVF) and had a sweep at her 40 wk appointment they said if nothing happened they wanted her to call on the Sat to arrange going in for induction -they want to monitor her labour closely for some reason- she has the blood group that can reject the baby - does that affect it?? Anyway all I know is she is 4cm dilated but the head is not engaged.

Sorry to anyone who's baby isn't sleeping through at the mo I am not taking it for granted believe me i have been up till 4am trying to get her to sleep before. Plus I know these things can change in time. Also I spend most of the evening feeding too soo don't get to relax with DH properly.

If it works, its awesome!

:hello:Afternoon everyone. Unbelievably I've been out having a RL today so only just catching up!

I went to a lovely tea group this morning and met three lovely ladies. It was really fab to chat to others with similar aged little ones, and :eek: to hear their birth stories. Following on from what Weezl was saying about talking about the birth, one of the ladies was recommending the hospital's birth afterthoughts service where a MW will come out to you and go through your notes and any questions you might have. Sounds like a good service although I think I'm pretty clear on what happened to me, the only thing I would like to know is how likely it is to happen again.

Feelie- if you're around did the nanny come today? If so, how did it go?

Karen- I failed to progress beyond 2cm after 44 hours so ended up with an EMCS. I guess the next stage might be to break her waters then put her on a syntocin drip, if they haven't already done those things. I hope you have a lovely time at your Mum's and that she spoils you and Tegan.

Elle- glad you enjoyed your group.

It's unusual for the head not to engage with a first time baby but not in anyway a problem. Can make inductions longer because it usually means the body is not read for labour, but usually a long induction is caused by the hospital faffing about and not being prompt in moving onto the next method, hoping that nature takes it's course. I was induced at 35 weeks. 6am prostaglandin gel, 9am oxytocin drip, 10am epidural (for my BP rather than pain releif) 4pm waters broken, 9.33pm birth. My labour was great so I'm very pro induction if thats what everyone wants all round.

The head may not engage till the waters break, and even then not fully till she is nearly fully dilated.
