Sami - I woke Tegan up cause it had been 10 hours since she last fed so was worried. Next time I think I'll just leave her just to see - she definitely made up for it this morning as she seemed to be wanting feeding every hour!

Last night we were washing up in the kitchen and I decided to give Tegan something to hold, I tried to give her the potato masher but decided it was too big so thought a wooden spoon would do the trick. She gripped it okay then jerked her arm and hit herself in the face! The look on her face was priceless we couldn't help but laugh even tho I felt bad. I then dug out her soft rattle which should be less painful if she hits herself with it.

If anyone remembers that i was feeling down a few weeks back, I am still blue but havent talked to my HV about it (just can't for some reason) but I have been talking to my friends a bit now. Why is it when you feel down that you cut yourself off from all the people that can help you!? so I have been crying when on my own and sometimes when DH is home from work there is two crying women in his life!!

Anyway DH offerred to take some time off work but I dont want him to waste holiday like that so Tegan and I are going to stay with my mum in Pembrokeshire (fun 7 hour drive!) for a week with DH driving us down and then meeeting half way to pick us up. Its good timing as well because my sister is due her baby anytime now (could end up being C/S as she has been in hospital since Sunday and head is still not engaged) so will be nice if I can help her out a bit too.

Speaking of my sister is anyone familiar with this? she has been induced once but nothing changed she has been 4cm dilated for a while and she has no contractions. The head isn't engaged, she is having omething else done but I'm not sure what. Hopefully she will be okay I worry about her so will be nice to see her.

WM - It was a few weeks ago cos I got mine from Amazon for £25 withoutr tray and was gutted.
J is on 2 meals a day - Day 13 today. He has porridge for lunch then 2 ice cubes of HM stuff. Plan to up it to 3 cubes from Saturday then at week 4 which is beg of Feb go up to 4 weeks. The guide in the Hipp pack is good and currently stuck on the fridge.

sorry hes not sleeping thru for u - what does he wake for? is it a bottle or just a cuddle?

J is sleeping much better now he's on his front.

aless - I know u didnt want to try anything unnatural (I think thats the best word) for Finns wind but gripe water doesnt seem to have too much in it whereas Infacol does have a chemical IIRC. Once he gets to a month old u could use that.

didnt stay away for long did I?

When I was in hospital the MW old me that breastfed babies didn't need burping when I asked if I should!! So believing the professionals I didn't really bother although occasionally she would burp from me carrying her by my shoulder. So she did get colicky (I think) and I used infacol for several weeks and also tried dentinox for a week. But I have now stopped using anything and dont think it has made any difference but I do make sure now that I burp her after every feed even if she is asleep also part way through to wake her up a bit sometimes. It all seems to be down to the baby as most things often are.........

might look at gripe water (was going to after the chat about it with Beenie), thanks. is it more colicky-ness or also pukies?

karen - I read the same thing!! so I didn't burp for 1st couple of weeks. but noticed he was possetting loads so I started burping and lo and behold the possetting decreased. so was obviously rubbish :p

I dont think that worrying thing goes away, Lexi is 9 months now and this morning she went down for a nap at 8.30am (she was up at 4) and didnt get up until 2.30pm It was ace to be able to plough through all the things I needed to get done but after 2 hours I was up there every 20 mins checking on her! :o:rotfl:

Aw Karen do try to talk to the hv or your gp xx
also just to point out your OH wouldn't be wasting annual leave surely spending time with your lovely partner and child are perfect reasons ;)

10 hours!!!! I wish Ed would do that again lol I used to have to wake him when he had big sleep to empty my boobs lol

not sure about your sister, why was she induced if you don't mind? I'm a bit anti induction but haven't reached being offered with either of my pgs but I didn't think they would induce if the head was still free, are here dates definitely right?

My 3 year old has the one thats on offer at asda at the mo but a 2year old might not be big enough for that, are you after isofix ones or seatbelt type ones? go back a few pages MFD has just posted about her posh new car seat which has been rated best by WHICH (am i right in thinking it was expensive MFD?)

    xx

It was £120. So not cheap but not expensive compared to the £250+ that you can spend on a seat with an isofix base.

Yup - someone told me that BF babies don't need winding too *rolleyes*
*OMG - where has the rolleyes smiley gone *

Every baby is different, how do 'they' know what air my baby is going to take in when he is feeding??? What utter tosh!! Way to make us all not burp our babies and leave them in discomfort :(
