I think I am too, but it's more who says it to me. If someone here or someone I didn't know called me a winker, i'd laugh, if Lucy called me it, i'd probably be hurt, if the girls called me it, i'd fall over in shock ;)

agree on that one ... if philip were to be blunt id take it in but anyone i dont care about i dont care what they say x

That's the way to be. Take in the good bits from others though ;)
  • Well, since I posted earlier, she has been looking at new jobs in the local paper and a local playgroup need someone part-time and she has put a tick next to it. I've not spoken to her about it yet as she's doing something with some of the girls, but i'll sit her down later.

It says no experience necessary but must be willing to train in NVQ (various levels) Childcare and Health & Social Care (amongst others) and will be subject to background and CRB checks. 5 mornings a week, 3 hours a day, 15 a week, during term time only and provide work references for the past 3 years.

I have no idea how these things work. Does anyone have any previous experience of playgroups? She has worked in a GP surgery for a number of years and has assisted in their mother baby groups and the like in that time.

She's ticked it, so she must have some interest.

    That sounds positive :)
Harley, concerning the dentist... I have kind of the same problem, mine is upstairs too... I went for a check up when Caitlyn was tiny, I left my pram right in front of the reception desk and lay Caitlyn on my tummy while I was being seen to... There didn't seem to be any other option  No idea what we'll do next time... She's not likely to stay on my tummy again now...

First time I went I did the same - Izzy was obsessed by putting her fingers in my mouth at that point (still is :rotfl:) so was very put out at someone else getting to do so! Last time the nurse held her - don't know if you would be ok with that?

I'll speak to her later. She's definitely quitting her job though and I will support her decision but encourage her seeking something else she may find more enjoyable.

No issue with nurse holding her except that they are normlly helping the dentist so would n't want to make life difficult for him since he is in charge of how much pain i'm in.

The reception is up on the first floor and the actual dentist is up a sprial type staircase right in the roof of the building. I wasn't sure about lying her across my tummy incase she got splattered with that pink watery stuff they spray into your mouth. It must go everywhere cos they always make me wear safety glasses and a giant bib as if I was about to start arts and crafts or something.

If I get really desperate before mum can get to me I think I'll get someone to come down and help me carry the pushchair up to reception then just take her in the car seat up to the dentists room.

Thanks all for the suggestions and sympathy.

Can I just add, I had a small sicky child earlier, only a little bit but enough to change her clothes and as I was taking her vest off I got a giggle. A proper, prolonged, girly little giggle.

    So cute:smileyhea

  • I'm filling out a job application form - so boring! Really not in the mood for it today, but it needs doing. Will have to bribe myself with a chocolate when I've finished this section!

Can't I just send them a letter saying "dear prospective employer, I'm starting on Monday, you will be matching my current salary, with a decent pension, and I want to buy some childcare vouchers please". It would be so much easier!

The last paragraph sounds great. Just don't accidentally send it to Peter Stringfellow
