zoes sat on a blanket on the floor eating her dinner and jayden kicking next to her ... hes trying desperately trying to turn himself round to get to it :rotfl:x
    :)Still searching .....:)
  • MM- Matthew has been diagnosed with excema and was prescribed epaderm by the gp, it has worked a little but his little cheeks are still very rough and it seems to be spreading further down his neck and up over his scalp.
I am just wondering what I could ask the gp to prescribe that might be a little more successful....
I am also curious as to whether it could be linked to a lactose intolerance as he shows some symptoms of that as well, back to see gp this week so will see how we get on.
    Coming soon............
Brand new baby first showing in November!

    afternoon
i was expecting pages to catch up on!!
mil and fil have been for a visit. left 2 bottles of wine and some cans of carling!! woo hoo!!
not been on the wii fit today :( will need to work extra hard tomorrow)

my dentist is also upstairs... but there is a 'room' downstairs that you can use if you cant use the stairs. what is it with dentists being upstairs?
when i was making the appointment for tomorrow, they said i could leave Kian downstairs (i know the receptionist) but if she was on her own i couldnt...luckily DH is off tomorrow, but when i go back next week for the fitting, i'll have to bring him. (she said this is ok cos i'll only be a few mins, its 45mins tomoz)

  • We went out for lunch today like proper grown ups :D! It was so nice, even if it was just Pizza Express (free with Clubcard vouchers :money:). Henry slept the whole time :T.

Also popped into Tesco on the way home and got some more 3-6 mth vests as Henry has so nearly grown out of his 0-3 ones ...... at 7 and a half weeks old. He must have a long body as the legs on everything are fine, but vests are too tight around the crotch, IYKWIM. They were a rather bargainous £1.75 for three and they had long sleeve, short sleeve and sleeveless. I hope I don't upset anyone by saying this, but I hate the sleeveless ones. The look like 'wife beater' tops, why would you want to put a baby in one of those?! I will probably eat my words if we have a heartwave this summer though :p.

MOTM- I have to say that I think Lucy quitting and looking for other jobs is much less scary than just quitting and working from home. The nursery one sounds very hopeful so fingers crossed.

Mel- I hope Kai manages a decent chunk of sleep for you this afternoon. Are you able to have a nap too?

I picked up my Boots order yesterday of three multi-packs of wipes. The box was pretty heavy, just to warn anyone who ordered them and has to walk very far with them.

Quick question, where has everyone opened their LO's savings account? Is it easiest just to do it where you bank, or are there any particularly good ones. I just want an instant access one for small amounts of birthday money etc, rather than one for saving lots of money.

Pookie - I hope he gets something suitable to help the excema, there are quite a few varieties of the creams and bath emollients.

GISI - Glad you had a nce time out, sounds lovely. I should of had a nap but I have just been cooking and eating dinner. Oh and buying on eBay:)

Pookie, when millie's began as a baby it started on her cheeks, tbh its just a case of finding the cream that works for you, there are literally hundreds and one might work for a couple of months and then stop having an effect.

Usually they give you a steroid cream to stop the breakout and then an emollient to slather on 100 times a day! But They won't prescribe steroid cream for a baby, so you are stuck with the longer route of just the emollient, its likely to get worse before it gets better tbh. Epaderm is an emollient.

Have they given you anything for his bath? that can really help. how are you finding it to put on? some of them are a bit runny and I don't think they 'stay there' iyswim, If you have the same trouble you can ask for an ointment instead which is more 'waxy'. If is is eczema then it really is trial and error of the different lotions and potions don't be afraid to go back to the docs they are used trying lots of different things for it.

If you think its lactose intolerance, write down why you think that (all the little things) I had a friend who had a real battle to get investigation into lactose intolerance, they really didn't take her concerns seriously.

And you can't put that cream on too often, keep slathering it on

My friends LO had it bad on his cheeks and E45 cream cleared it up brilliantly. I use Grapeseed Oil on any dry skin, cradle cap and to do Jack's baby massage - like Lady says it doesn't smell and absorbs really well.

Think it used to be the salt and sugar in them but they now do salt, sugar and gluten free so OK for little ones. My mum kept banging on about rusks so I had a look in ASDA but didn't buy any.

Had a bit of a tidy round and a little polish so at least my house smells nice now! Annoyed that bin men not been since before Christmas, I have a full wheelie bin, one black bag ion top of the recycling n the recycling wheelie bin and 2 full bags of rubbish in the downstairs loo. At that's all with being away for 10 days over Christmas as well! Wouldnt be so bad if it was just rubbish and not nappies! Have put all the Christmas stuff away in the attic and put some of Jacks stuff up there as well.

Off to cook tea now and get Jack's bottles done - he'll probably be awake for one again soon

apparently lots of trumping can be a sign of lactose intolerance - so said my HV anyway!
