Can somebody please explain baby clothing sizes to me again? (I'll come back and read the replies in a short while!) Are they "up to" the size stated, as in Asda Tiny Baby is upto 6lb and Early Baby is upto7.5lb? And how baggy are baby clothes meant to be? He's now 7lb and vests still seem to fit, but babygros aren't long enough in the arm?

    take it as upto 7lbs.
vests seem to fit Kian snugly. we have one vest top, from pumpkin patch that came with a label saying 'to be worn snugly'

a lot of Kian's are baggy. he seems to be long rather than round, similar to andrew. he is wearing clothes for his 'age' for the length although some of them are very baggy. (and some are far too long ). clothes that are snug now are too short in the arm.

any hoo..rambling on. i just go of the actual size of the clothes rather than the label if that helps.

if it means Kian won't run riot round a pub when he's older we'll take him now so he's used to the place and learns its not good to run up and down seats!! (pet peeve)

That does help - you go for baggy in the body but long enough in the arms & legs. I'm going to have to switch to that too, which means another small pile of clothes ready for fairying or donating.

I've got two Pumpkin Patch items, and both seem to be longer in the arm than supermarket clothes. And don't even mention Adams - their 5lb stuff seems the equivalent of newborn elsewhere!

Tigs I tend to make sure there's something that's long enough in the arms and legs then layer over it so even if the outer thing is too short in the arms her wrists and ankles are covered.

That seems so wrong - Kian was born a month after Andrew, and yet he's passing on outgrown clothes ... Are there any other takers, before I hog them? And does anyone know someone in need of preemie clothes? (other than NICU)

i know. i forget sometimes that andrew was preemie.

will sort them out. none have been worn more than 5 times if even that.

    Hi all

Sort of skim read back, saw a lot of bf talk and saw some well dones needed....not sure what else. Oh yeah...SS that looks beautiful, I bet you can't wait. Ah yeah also pubs,,,we usually end up choosing ones that have a play area as we find it difficult to get babysitters, it means we can't stay out late or relax cos constantly checking on the kids...but at least it is a change of walls occasionally!

MFD and Feelie...I always used to think, how could anyone bring themselves to spend so much on a pushchair, haha I am now looking at an iCandy peach Blossom:o there is an iCandy stockist not too far away so we will go and have a play soon (that's if we're still together, long story!)

Anyway Kai has been slightly brighter in short bursts today, still very sleepy, clingy, whingy...but I have kept him well dosed up on calpol and nurofen.....Hopefully he gets a decent sleep tonight, he was up avery hour to two hours last night, but not quite awake enough to administer meds until 6am. Poor poorly baby he is.

Feel like gettin very drunk right now, very down and stressed although obviously tiredness is making things worse. might have a glass of wine(or more likely a shandy) and a hot bath to try and unwind, then an early night....so won't be on later, don't talk too much:p
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.
