Here I go again on my own....
  • OMG I have finally caught up!! I started first thing this morning, then every time I got about 2 pages from the end, I would have to do something and then I was back to square one, lol!!

Read all the breastfeeding talk with great interest, hi Karen, great advice from everyone and I too am gonna make sure I am eating and drinking enough as sometimes the days just seem to fly. One thing I do do is take a pint of water up to bed each night as I seem to be really thirsty when I wake to feed Toby in the night and most nights I get through the whole pint.

I had a bit of a better night last nite, well on our scale anyway!! Toby did go to sleep at 11 for 3 hours which was great then he was up about 2 hours after, I tried feeding led in bed on the 5/6am one and that seemed easier. Did find he was getting lazy latching onto my left side and only taking the nipple so I had to keep taking him off and it was hurting lots!! He seems ok today though, phew!!

Thanks SS and Carla for adding me on FB :) Its great to be able to put faces to the names now. I have also clicked to join the MSE group but cant see how to send a message explaining who I am? Any ideas?

Our glider chair arrived today from ebay however its going to have to go back as its way smaller than we imagined :( We had tried a friends dutailier and loved it so we ordered one but its a squeeze for me let alone my DH, I am a size 14/16 so surely it should be roomier than that!! The seller seems ok for it to go back though.

    Feelinggood - hugs xx

    xx

Aless how are u going to the pub have you already started expressing? I have no need to express since i have on OH who could feed her but i want to, just don't know how to start expressing without messing up my supply. Bit paranoid about that cos that's why i ended up putting DS on formula at 3 months-ish. I was going back to work when he was 4 months that's why i was expressing then. Oh and my 18th birthday was when he was about 3 weeks old so went out for a meal and left my mother with him lol.

Can't get my interweb fixed til Monday. Well, that's when they're coming, no idea if they'll be able to fix it on the day.

Little miss hiccups has had a few short dozes today and not much more so i wonder if she'll sleep through tonight, hmmm wishful thinking :p Had her in the crib last night for the first part, which was good since i've been having her in bed with me feeding. That's one plus to not having an OH but a king size bed! Although maybe not cos i don't want to make her clingy lol.

Hi ss only if you don't mind.
You may remember me saying about Matthew having lumps on his neck, basically paeds seem convinced that it is a deep hemangioma but he has to attend for an ultrasound next Wednesday.
I just wanted to know will they just check these lumps or will they look elsewhere incase there are anymore and what sort of thing would you expect to see on ultrasound to confirm the birthmark diagnosis?
    Many many thanks.
    Coming soon............

Ooh forgot to say, the hv came (finally) today and Amber now weighs 8lb 8oz! Do they put about a lb a week on now? I didn't remember how fast they grow so was shocked when she said that. She weighed 7lb 6oz last time which i think was 8 days ago.

Beenie, the 'normal' weight gain for breastfed babies varies enormously. A healthy range is 5-8.5oz per week, but even outside that range isn't a reason to worry if baby is happy, healthy, giving wet nappies and meeting milestones.

About expressing - waiting till LO is 6 weeks old to express and introduce a bottle is usually recommended as the 'safer' option. After 6 weeks, your supply is more settled. Any expressing questions, we've got a couple of experts around!
