  • To those worried about 2nd pregnancies ( altho tigs I cant remember why little Andrew was so early) With DD1 I had pre eclampsia full bed rest in hospital for 2 weeks and was induced 1 week early and with DD2 I was expecting all sorts of complications and worried the whole time and had a text book pregnancy - starting labour 3 days earlier than due date and was in hosp for 40mins before she was born so hope this helps :D

When dd2 had her injections I had calpol in ready but she didnt need it after first and third lots - only gave her it after round 2 as she was a bit hot and grouchy

Also got my letter from the Plastic Surgeon today, saying waiting list to be SEEN is up to 3months but they will write to me 6weeks before my appointment. Feel nervous about it, what if they say no? I think that might push me over the edge! I best loose some more beef....

Is this an appointment to see the actual surgeon, or to have a psycholical evaluation. Any PS carried out for cosmetic reasons on the NHS requires you to talk to a psychologist first, they actually are the ones that OK the op rather than the surgeon, or have you already been through this stage?
( These were the NHS Scotland guidelines as off 2008, the fact that your GP has recommended you means that you should already meet the physical criteria for the op)

Thanks feelie, the hv said today 'a few weeks' which i wondered as it's already nearly 3! But 6 weeks makes more sense, although there's no rush or need to start expressing at all.

Looks like my milk is full fat then she's putting the pounds on nicely. Although i am quite upset that she's already grown out of a lovely sleepsuit she was given lol.

BM - I'll be seeking a referal for gastric surgery when I stop breastfeeding and I already worry about them saying no. I hope the wait isn't too long and the process is gentle. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Sorry I forgot to comment on it earlier. Keep us posted.

    Calpol/Jabs - interesting thing here:

If your not planning on any more, keep it for her dolls when she is bigger! I used to buy outfits from the charity shop for DD's dolls

Thanks for all your replies about the chances of any potential no.2 being premature. I had problems with the bloodflow to the placenta, and they have absolutely no idea as to why (could be age, could be congenital, could have been sheer bad luck) so cannot tell whether the problem and prematurity could recur. Just a chance we'd have to take, but we'd have more frequent doppler scans from very early on, so as to know - not that we'd be able to do anything to help the situation if it did recur (other than decide not to continue)!

I think teh actual waiting list for any op is 18wks (maybe 16?) but in reality its a lot longer as you havae to jump through a lot of hoops just to get on the list in the first place!!
My Mum was on about a gastric band and IIRC its not easy to get referred and they see it as a last option once you have seen dietician, exercise even medication ect
