My Mum was on about a gastric band and IIRC its not easy to get referred and they see it as a last option once you have seen dietician, exercise even medication ect

I asked my GP for a referal thinking it'd take a long time but she said it'd be 4 months so I should ask again when I've stopped breastfeeding. I fit the NICE guideline for the op, and I'm hopeful they'll agree that I'm a good candidate.

Thats good then, sounds like you've already done the groundwork. You'll probably get an appointment at the hospital at some point then that Doctor will put you onto the actual 'list' and you'll be 18 wks from there.
How will that work if you decide to have another baby tho? (Excuse my noseyness I learned from Tia)
