Jillie – the darkness seems to be enough for us too. Even if H is awake, 90% of the time, a simple night night and a kiss, then light out seems to be enough to tell her it’s bedtime (at the moment – but things could change!). We can do whatever we like before that – sometimes a bath, sometimes carrying on, sometimes a bottle etc. The cot mobile is normally on her big cot which is only used for cot top changer at the moment, and we used it to entertain and calm her if she had trapped wind whilst giving her nappy free time on the changer.
I certainly see no harm in doing other things that can be calming though as all babies are different. I am looking forward to cuddling up and reading her a story at bedtime.

Feelie – lovely picture of Toby.

Choppy – hope your dad makes a quick recovery.

MM – hope your bottom is ok!

Has anyone actually used Metrosaver to buy from. A quick google search shows nothing except some travel pass information and I the site looks quite basic.

Thought I'd got caught out buying from Big Imagination before xmas, though it turned out they are just carp, but it's made me a lot more wary about where I put my creditcard number.

    Thanks xxx

i'm looking forward to reading as well. at the moment we read a book in the afternoon but will have no hesitation in reading a bedtime story when the time comes.

for those with older children (capable of reaching for the book and wanting to put it in their mouths :D) how do you go about reading to them? i know if i tried this LO would be diving for the book and trying to eat it with no interest in what i am reading to her
