Oh, that is exciting. Mine is still in my maiden name, so I have a wedding certificate that lives inside it at all times. Still has about 4 years left, so I'm not paying for a new one till it is closer to running out.Hiya Becles :hello:
Glad your OH is okay Tia.. hope everyone involved is too xx
To those with toddlers and bigger, is there any particular facility you would you look for from a holiday with a 14mth old? We're going to go away for a week somewhere in the UK, but undecided whether a lodge on a park type place or a holiday cottage, or something else completely
We will be going away when Izzy is about 18 months, and I've booked us in here on the basis that it has swimming pools and soft play area (plus fishing for DH and crazy golf for me!), and there are bound to be lots of places we can go off for day trips to as well. Some holiday cottages can be a bit "pristine" and I would be a bit paranoid about taking a toddler and wrecking the place (plus caravans tend to be all on one level, so need to worry about stairs) but that is just me! I suppose it depends what kind of things you like to do and how much money you have too.
I have the contact details for a lovely cottage in Port Isaac in Cornwall if that would help - PM me and I'll dig out the ladies address, and we have been staying at Ladysmile in Devon ever year since about 2001 - this will be the first year we don't go (except that we will probably end up going there for a long weekend at some point if I know DH... he likes his predictable routines bless him!)
Izzy is FINALLY asleep - she normally has a nap for an hour and half or so after lunch, but with our new regime it seems to have changed a bit. Yesterday she was so tired in the morning I put her down then and she slept for about 2 hours. Today it was about 40 mins, which is no-where near enough, so she has been grumpy and clumsy (well, clumsy for her iyswim - keeps falling down more than normal and getting upset about it instead of getting back up and carrying on), but fighting it every time I try to put her down. Finally got her down at 4, which is when she normally has her tea, so she wll be starving when she wakes up.
Washing up done and tea ready to go when she wants it though, so it's all good. I've also finally managed to get all the details I need to get car insurance quotes, so I'd better get on with that I suppose!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Jillie you're always welcome to comment on my photos if you want
Molly's still not getting any solids (5 months and 3 days) although she's starting to get the idea of food and will stare in fascination as plates empty. I bought some baby rice and similar bits in the UK (because I can't be faffed spending the time reading the labels on the German ones) to start introducing solids, but they're currently caught in the UK's total lack of preparation for the cold spell so I've put off the onset of food till they arrive. She licked lemon and orange slices while we were at a Chinese restaurant over Christmas - and preferred the lemon, the weird little thing - and has strategically carved and refrigerated carrots for teething chomping, but no food that requires a spoon yet.
Edit: Glam, you're doing what you think is best for your kid - nobody should be even considering slating you for it. Other people may do stuff differently, but their kids aren't yours. Different strokes for different folks and so on.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

My friend started weaning her LO before Christmas - I think he was 13 weeks. She said it was because he needed it but this is someone who has been trying to get her baby to sleep through since he was born and was so glad when he started feeding every 4hrs cos she was 'fed up' of doing it every 3. So I know exactly what you mean.
I kind of wish I hadn't posted anything about it now TBHI'm sure I'll get slated for starting at 20 weeks but if its what Jack needs then its what he'll get. OH and I have discussed it and it's something we are taking very seriously and will only do when he needs it. I may get to 20 weeks and decide actually he doesn't want it - I'm just taking each week as it comes at the moment!
Babies haven't read the guidelines so they need food when they need it:cool:
DD was on baby rice at 8 weeks as per HV advice. She was on a 9oz bottle every 2 hrs. She put on a lb a week since birth, so at 8 wks she was over 16lbs which was the then recommended weight range for weaning.
Anyone who wants to slate that can kiss my a$$.
Kieren will get food when he wants it be it 20wks, 26wks, 30wks or tomorrow.
Get yourself on Facebook Glam!!!!!0 -

Aw, Glam, I'm sure no one will have a pop! xx
I didn't wean mine until they were 6m simply because they were satisfied with milk alone (and slept through the night from a few months old so that wasn't an issue).

I bought her a lovely traditional rag doll for Christmas but she was still nameless last night, so I said we had to think up a nice name for her. I think she should have a really pretty name, but no, her new name is Dolly Chicken Eyes

Once they start sticking food (and everything else come to think of it) in their mouths you kind of calm down with the whole sterilising thing!!
