i bought some xmas presents today mil is done, friend is sort of done and alittle bit towards sil .. later i'll need advise once ive sorted out the kids for bed .. ((hugs)) and to everyone ...

oh and philip is getting paid next thursday apparently they got the days wrong x

hi everyone

sorry for disappearing again - I kind of feel a bit like Jillie posted in that as much as I love posting I didn't really miss posting over Christmas and New Year but I do miss you guys and think 'Oh I must tell everyone that'! Also been hard to post as Jack's not sleeping as much as he did and this week ....................

OH & BIL haven't been to work! Our road doesn't get gritted and it is about 3 inches of compacted ice under another 4 inches of snow! We managed to dig the cars but by ASDA was completely out of salt and we decided that a bit of snow was better than ice so we gave up!

Not wanting to bore everyone with my news

Jack is sitting up with support but can sit on his own for around 10secs til he forgets and falls over.

He is in his cot now :j although OH is sick of tiptoeing around and wants Jack in his own room which we might do in a few weeks cos fed up of waking him up when we get up or come to bed.

OH let Jack suck on his apple earlier and Jack loved it! He has had a taste of banana as well - just in his mouth no swallowing though!
Jack was like a loon for about 2hours after the apple so he must have had a high of the juice!

Despite my post the other day, Jack is now back on 6 bottles a day (every 3 hours from 7am until 11pm) so think we are on another growth spurt!

Having a rough time in the evenings with Jack - it's almost like Colic. He is screaming and drawing his legs up, it's awful and I find it very difficult to calm him down. It happens around 8pm when I am trying to settle him for bed and last til around 9-10pm, he then falls asleep but cries in his asleep like he's having a bad dream. Fortunately he's OK after his dream feed though. GP thought he might have a tummy bug but he seems OK the rest of the time

Jillie - I know what you mean about time to yourself. OH has done nothing but play PS3 these last 3 days cos 'he's on holiday'. I don't need a holiday cos I'm on Maternity Leave. He just doesn't get it!

Hoping they go to work tomorrow so I get chance to catch up with you all - evenings are v.busy doing tea/bottles/bath/bed/soothe/cuddle etc then DF then bed. So I want my days back!

Hi Glam!!!

bet you feel better with Jack in the cot. We're thinking of moving him to his own room at the end of jan.
and tasting apples and bananas. i'm too scared to let kian yet. he's watching us drink and eat a lot more. and now he gets very excited when he sees his bottle. also has developed a fondness for having his bottle in his chair! think he will be very independant.

any sign of BIL moving out yet?

I get that too! He has to rest when he's on holiday and he can't help out with housework, laundry etc., because he has a full time job.

I work about 20-30 hours a week and study about 20 hours a week but I have to do all the housework etc., because apparantly I don't do much else

He's got farms and cafe's and stuff on Facebook that he's always on at me to play the games. I struggle keeping up with my real life stuff never mind running pretendy farms and cafes!

To those with toddlers and bigger, is there any particular facility you would you look for from a holiday with a 14mth old? We're going to go away for a week somewhere in the UK, but undecided whether a lodge on a park type place or a holiday cottage, or something else completely

Yeah I didn't do the cot move before Christmas cos he slept in his Mosey while we were away and I didn't want to confuse him!

Jack is a little sod when it comes to food, he was kicking up one day so I had him on my lap while I had my tea and he nicked a chip off my plate and tried to put it in his mouth and then stuck his fist in my curry sauce!

His little mouth was going like the clappers after what is now known as 'apple-gate' :rotfl: Was annoyed though cos OH did it when I was at ASDA but he recorded it on my phone and it was hiliarous!!!!

I am going to start weaning him at 20 weeks - I have been reading loads of info on it recently and I know 'they' say 6 months BUT IMO he's ready for it now but I will hang on til 20 weeks.

BIL still here :rolleyes: am too much of a wuss to say anything but when the electric bill comes through I WILL BE UPPING THE RENT!

Hello all. I'm back from the dreaded Tesco. It was fully stocked and fully staffed so clearly it was just the drivers who couldn't get in. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want anyone to take a risk to deliver my shopping, but I think the way it was handled was rubbish. I did get £10 off code though, so every cloud.......

Tia- glad your OH is okay, I would have been worried too.

csh- yay for being on fb

Glam- nice to see you back on here

Bruno- I know how your OH feels, and have been guilty of going a little OTT in my texts to OH when he is at work. I think everyone's suggestion of an afternoon or morning off for your OH is an excellent one though. You do feel so much better after a little 'me' time.
