.. awwww elle. Horrid memory. He's amazing isn't he, your doctor defying baby boy? x

Ay, he is quite fab... biased? me? much? ;):D The doctor who did the blood test on Monday couldn't believe how well he's doing :)

Am very happy right now.. He's been sat in the corner of the sofa, "reading" his book and playing with teething keys for over 40minutes without any grumbles! :D I'm trying to get him to keep himself amused for longer and also while sat up so he learns sitting up is gooooood ;) Before this, he was very grumbly and didn't really know what to do with himself. He was staring at the sofa, so I stood him against it and he stood there, belly resting on it, dragging his nails down the sofa fabric  He does that in his crib too.. like nails down a blackboard in the middle of the night!
.. Feelie- elle was talking about high calorie foods for Rhys a while ago so might be able to help.

Indeedy. Feelie, have a gander at this leaflet for ideas :D

Weezl - It's a nice name, any reason why you make it a middle name? Or do you want a name that's not kinda "out there" for later in life use? All rise for Judge Kester ....Weezl :D Be seated peasants!

ooooh yes, judge Kester :) me likey :)

Well, a lovely MSE friend had a baby shower for me on MSE before fergie came. And some trolls came on and said it was tantamount to child abuse to be calling him Fergus. So DH and I had a big chat and still really loved the name, but decided that if he ever did feel that his name was too unusual, we'd give him an easy way to opt out of that, by having Jonathan as his first name.

Once established, our families now feel it's important to do the same thing with Kester, else they might have squabbles over why it's different. I'm not so fussed about that. I reckon they'll squabble about all sorts anyway! But I respect where our families are coming from :) Sorry long answer!

weezl, you are the fount of all research, so you've probably heard of http://www.spinningbabies.com ? Kester still has loads of time to turn, but it's really good with exercises & things you can do to help him.

well my 2 eBay thingees are listed! LOL, not exactly a world accomplishment but at least did something. was just about to say don't have anything to do now, but I just remembered the laundry sitting in the washer, oops.

not sure on the christening front. DH & I are religious, but not CofE (well he was born it, but we go to non-denom church now) so christening's not really something they do as such. I was baptised as a baby, but our current church doesn't do that either... don't see much point in ceremony, as he'll be brought up knowing our beliefs no matter what, IYSWIM. We discussed this on the preg thread a few months and PERSONALLY (pls don't take offense) it's a pet peeve when people christen/baptise just for the sake of it without being religious.

Does she have to be in her cot for naps?
She goes down quite happily in her pram (which we keep in the hall), maybe semi-cries for 90 seconds at the most but not always, she often plays a bit then just goes to sleep. We wanted to get her in the habit of sleeping in her cot as that's what the nursery has for them to sleep in. Also, it's somewhere safe to leave her to sleep when she's mobile, so thought we'd try and get her used to it now. It's not going too well though. She'll be sleepy soon, so we'll see how it goes this afternoon :-S.

choppy, *hugs* I've got all this to come at theend of the month once Rhys actually has a cot!
ETA: No pink milk this morning... cos I know you all wanna know the state of my nipples really
It was horrible. I couldn't leave her any longer :(
Glad your nips are better :D

Jillie - CDs are easy to list on ebay as all you need to do is enter the barcode and it does the title, track listing etc for you. I don't think they go for much though :(

    Workinmummy - cute pics :)

That's all I've got time for now, but will be back later

  • Elle - Benjamin does the nail thing too - my leather sofa and gorgeous wooden bed are scratched to b00gery!!
MFD, I resisting mentioning a christening here as I think it could cause problems. I was christened CofE many years ago, but am rather an agnostic these days (I really enjoyed Richard Dawkins' book!). Marley was baptised Roman Catholic. I'm not sure where that leaves us in terms of bringing up Andrew, as I think we'll have different ideas (not bother vs. baptism). One for later this year, I think!

If hubby had a desire to have one (for any reason other than a p1ssup ) then I would happily go along with it. Hubby is completely athiest (whereas I still kind-of believe at least in the tradition of it and at least I like going to church!!) but he just assumed we would have one because it is the 'done thing'. I said I was easy but I didn't really see the point and now hubby 'brags' to his family that we have chosen not to get him christened  They probably just think I am being [STRIKE]arkward[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]alternative[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]intellectual [/STRIKE]wierd again :D

I like it as an avvy cos it was obviously taken at the same time as the other pic you posted, (but felt DSS wasn't yours to display) so when I seen this photo I thought o fthe other one and how much you liked it, if that makes any sense????!!!!!

Lots of sense - what a good memory you have. Mine is sho1te these days :o

And I am LOLing because I am betting that I am not the only one who was squinting at your avvy wondering why you wanted to put what looks like a shelf of stuffed toys on there :D
