I must admit though he has started changing no 2 nappies on Henry !!! A case of having to when I was in hospital but he wont go near Williams, which I think are much nicer to do :rotfl:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Sounds like my OH
In the night he is so horrible yet he wants J in our room! if J wakes up I have to take him downstairs to settle him and he must be asleep before I put him down so he doesnt disturb OH.
I tend to get '!!!!!!, can you pick him up?' after 1 cry!
OMG Glam, I seriously don't know how you put up with that! I would stay upstairs with LO just to annoy him!I had to take the car for service - and as suspected I got a courtesy dodgem in return for my huge car! Lucky I didn't have the pram in the car - i'd have had to put the courtesy car in the pram basket. :rotfl:
:rotfl:What a pain though! My MIL only likes 4x4s, she thinks she's really slumming it in our Mondeo, so I had to laugh when her beloved Land Rover went in for service and she got a Mini as a courtesy car :rotfl:
Aless- just had a thought- could you try drinking a big glass of OJ before a feed? Might have the desired effect on Finn?:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
aless harry doesn't go very often at all. But it is about every 3 days and he is breast feed too. I agree i think a week is a bit too long. ring your HV and she will be able to give you advice.
It has been so hectic here what with hospital apts I haven't had chance to come on at all. He is putting on lots of weight and is now 8lbs 3oz at 6 weeks the consultant is very happy with him, although he is being a bit funny with feeding again. He chokes a lot and spits it out like it is going down the wrong way but he had a chest x-ray and they made him swallow some dye to see if there was any obstruction and it was all ok so we are still a bit confused. He still has his Strider and sucks in his chest when he breathes which make it look like he is really struggling and has to put lots of effort into breathing. Other than that he is very contented and it doesn't seem to bother him at all. His noise is quite reassuring as when he stops making it from time to time I panic and think he isn't breathing. It will be odd when/if he stops doing it all the time.
He has to have a camera put down his throat next and i am hoping My hubby ill be able to get time off work to come with me, I really don't want to see it.
He has only been waking once in the night but he always takes a little while settling to go back to sleep after the feed. It seems he doesn't like his Moses basket. He falls back to sleep the moment I pick him up then cries when I put him back in it. Last night was the worst he was awake from 1.30 till 4.30. I don't know what to do. His normal cot won't
fit in our room. This is my signature!0 -
Approach any poo relief remedy with caution. You dont want to be bathing a baby at 6am due to such a large breach its come up and out the back of the neck and into the hair like we did this morning _pale_
I havent even attempted rescuing the babygrow, sleeping bag or cot sheet, it all went straight in the bin!Mummy to

morning all - oops, baby whinging on mat so this will be lightening fast.
once he finally got to sleep around 11, it wasn't too bad last night. really hope doesn't cry all day today - I'm wondering if it's related to the fact that he hasn't done a poo in a week now? honestly, how do you tell the difference between a constipated face and normal baby crying? There's been no hard stools or blood or anything so I have no idea if it's real constipation or if he's just 1 of those that does 1 explosive poo a week and that's it...just wish he'd done 1 already!
(you guys did say you liked hearing about poo)
Is he breastfed or formula fed?
It is also normal for a breastfed baby older than six weeks to have only one bowel movement every few days. Some healthy babies will have only one bowel movement a week.
Toby often went quite a while between dirty nappies. As long as he was as happy as normal, I didn't worry. A bit of tummy massage can help - just rest your hand on his stomach and move in a clockwise direction. Don't push down, just use the weight of your hand, and move the whole belly.
(great info about breastfed babies and constipation here:

Hi Aless,
We were only successful in getting help for fergie's constipation once he had bledPrior to that, the suggestions were only as the HV will give you, boiled cooled water, diluted cloudy apple juice, massage and leg bicycling. My friend's LO (BF) was a 'once every 3 weeks pooer' from birth, and nothing has been offered as an intervention because he isn't in great distress, just a bit of straining, no blood and no palpable abdominal hardness.
HTH?

MotM, I've not read the whole of your thread, must admit its quite lengthy. What was the outcome if you don't mind posting it here?
She had no right to tell you what to buy. Whilst I have no direct experience with these departments, and they can have some very helpful people working in them, from non direct experience I know they have some very judgemental people working for them, who already have made up in their mind that anyone claiming is a criminal.
The best thing searching can do is either get an outside agency involved(CAB - and I know some there are just as bad) and keep all correspondance via letter, or if have the equipment, recorded phone calls. They will lie and twist, so you have to fight them, but have to remain dignified throughout, wording every letter carefully.
There is no outcome for 12yo yet. She is back at school, teacher is not there at the moment. They have made us an 'offer' which is acceptable, which includes not being in a class with him without another teacher present, apologies and guarantees, but some on the thread want us to get the LEA and police involved, so it's pulling me in different directions.
Thanks everyone else for their input.0 -
