Elle, I forgot to say, Im not sure how much those little pots hold but i found some little ones in Home Bargains and the look about twice the size of those and Rose has a savory and sweet sized one each meal. ie a main meal and normally pureed fruit one. Porridge always seems to be a little larger but thats just my inaccurate measuring xDS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090

I told OH it's his lack of practise..:rotfl: I always do brekkie and lunch so I make OH do tea. Rhys is usually fine, it's just that tonight's tea was a bit coarser than he's used to

Oh yeah, porridge servings are always too thick, more milk, too thin, more porridge.. repeat to fade  Rhys is only having one course at the minute, then a yoghurt or fruit an hour or so later. He's filling up on food and not milk these days and he's still only little so don't want to give him even more food and him not get the milk, iyswim0 -

Yesterday we went out to a Hungry Horse pub (we often go actually) and youshould have seen Kai gobbling down my dessert...it was the thickest, gooyest, chocolate fudge cake smothered in rich chocolate sauce and served with ice-cream.....he couldn't get enough. I was doing one spoon each and everytime I put the spoon in my mouth he huffed and opened his mouth as wide as possible:o:rotfl:Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
I've just been reading the AK puree book again and she suggests dried fruit (raisins and apricots specifically) from 7mths in the finger foods section
Yup, honey is one year (info)
Daddy and Rhys have fallen out. Rhys wouldn't eat his tea when Daddy fed him, but wolfed it down when I took over
Ta chick. If honey is 1 year then I won't have a cow next time Benjamin tries to eat daddy's honey cheerios!!!
Dunno why I had a thing about raisins in my head!
Ah - Rhys has just learned the 'playing one parent up then being an angel for the other' trick!! Enjoy *rolleyes*redmel1621 wrote: »Thanks, I am made up as feeding has been tricky with him only using his hands.
MFD - I don't know of any reason he couldn't eat raisins....I haven't tried Kai with them yet, but the older two love them. i think I just thought he wouldn't be able to chew them??
We still have a spoon for me and a spoon for Benjamin Mel. He is doing well but I wouldn't be able to let him feed himself with a spoon. Although TBH he eats much better when he eats with his hands so we may be moving in the opposite direction to you ATM (more finger foods!!)
Benjamins chewing has really come on in the last few weeks. Now he has teeth (even if it is only 2) he likes to bite on things! I can safely give him whole grapes and he bites them open at the front and lets the juice run down his chin!!I screamed like a girl
Then I very shakily informed her that biting is painful, took her off gently and winded her to give us both a little break and put her back on.
We have tooth powders that seem to help.
I am sure you know this but screaming or reacting to being bitten can make the problem worse. It can make it like a game to baby. Best thing to do is to not react and take them off with a firm NO and stop feeding for a time. Or, if they are clamping down, push their face into your boob so they have to release to breathe (Krystal's trick).
Luckily Benjamin has never been a massive biter, but it could be worth checking your positioning too, obviously as they get bigger the way you hold them has to change too.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Hi Nicki! I was only thinking about you yesterday!
Jack has reflux - I started a few things at the same time and not sure which has worked. I can some you have tried or have already been suggested but here's what the HV suggested.
Feeding sitting up, wind before a feed, use a fast flow teat on the bottle (appreciate you are BF). We started the Gaviscon on a Monday and I started weaning Jack the next weekend - it was in between this time that the possetting stopped and the evening screaming! I also put J down to sleep on his front now as it's the only way I can get him to go to sleep on his own and stay asleep.
J really fought sleep tonight - I think its because Daddy's idea of spending time with him is to have him infront of the TV! From now on every weekend I'll take J for a walk in the pushchair just to get him out the house for a bit.
Got loads to do tonight as got an early start tomorrow but I CBA to get started!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0
