Its been very cold for most of the time in the last month where I live (Within the Crosby weather station district) and like everyone else we've had the heating on much more but so far no triggered payments - yet to me it seems that all points N,S,E, and W around us have been getting these extra payments (I know i'm exaggerating  )
I've been watching the BBC weather for the last month more closely than normal because of the very cold weather and I swear that apart from about a week to ten days max within the last month or so the temperature plonked on the BBC TV weather map for my region has been on average '0' and encased in a very chilly looking blue circle, indeed more often than not it has been showing lower than that and if you took into account the windchill factor...
Maybe the Crosby station is run by 'hard working' Daily Mail readers.;)0 -

You may be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each week of very cold weather in your area if you get Pension Credit or income-related Employment and Support Allowance with a support or work related activity component in the main phase.
You may also be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each qualifying week if you are getting Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or income-related Employment and Support Allowance in the assessment phase and have one of the following:- a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium
- a disability premium, enhanced disability premium or severe disability premium
- a disabled child premium
- Child Tax Credit that includes a disability or severe disability element
- a child who is under five in the family

Checker says I should have had two. But not got them yet. Take it takes time to come through. Is it still Giro or direct to bank? Whom do I phone to ask? The DLA office. My partner gets CA or is it the CA office? I assume it is just one payment, does not go on how many reside in the house on benefit.0

You do not qualify for the CWP because of where your weather station is, this has nothing to do with the DWP  so pretty pointless phoning them don't you think.
You say your children are not a risk, yet you don't know how to keep them warm when the weather get a bit colder than normal
Duvets, blankets, extra layers of clothing that's how you keep your children warm if you cannot afford to buy gas/electric.
errmmmm!!! I think I can work that one out for myself I am not stupid, how do you think we managed the 2 days we had no gas ??
My point is & always has been why shouldnt we get a CWP if the temperature in the area I live in is 0 or below.
If this is how they do it they might as well not bother offering it in the first place. BTW I checked the distances for both post codes & the post code that did get the CWP was further away from Andrewsfield than we are. Tell me how that is fair, as I said before I hope to have a job soon so I wont have this problem for long.
I do worry about all the other people in my area though as we have a lot of elderly people & quite a lot of families in poverty in this area.
BTW I dont appreciate your sarcasm. I know the rules, I just dont agree with them. Try to be helpful instead of making pre judged opinions & sarchastic comments.0 -

CWP has nothing to do with CA or DLA you need to call the JCP.*SIGH*0 -
