Why do the people who have worked and payed there NICs get the dirty end of the stick for CWP?

I am on on pre 95 CBIVB and my husband is getting the support group of ESA contributions based and we get tax credits for our son and because I am disabled on the higher rates of DLA but we dont get CWP, even thought we get free perscriptions, glasses etc.

    Why?

I wrote a long reply to your post, talking about how generous the benefit system is in the UK, how a "cold weather" payment is another language in most countries, how the government will pay you if you are disabled, sick etc.

But then I remembered we are not in DT and stopped (as I am sure you did).

Is it peole on benefits that just get the cold weather payment, or do you get it with your child tax credits as well.

CTC is a benefit, but it is not one of the qualifying benefits.

Nor is being severely disabled on high rates of DLA and IVB with a husband in the support group of ESA.
