I receive Income Support and a disability premium. I checked my postcode Bs9 3nb and it says that bs9 has been triggered for payment. I have checked my bank account this morning and no payment has been made. Could some one advise me what I should do, as I have had to have alot more heating on and could do with the extra money.
Wait for it to come through :confused:the first payments are just going out.

    Knew it..

    My area HA6

The Met Office have notified the Department for Work and Pensions that no periods of very cold weather have occurred in the HA6 postcode area between 1 November 2009 and 30 December 2009 that would trigger a Cold Weather Payment. No Cold Weather Payments have been made.

And yet 10 mins away or thereabout in HP8 and surrounding area..

The Met Office have notified the Department for Work and Pensions that 1 period of very cold weather has occurred in the HP8 postcode area between 1 November 2009 and 30 December 2009, triggering a Cold Weather Payment.

I live like 30 mins away from Heathrow's weather station (Wont be that cold seeing its near the airports!).. Strange how they can use that station for those in my area when it's close to Herts border which covers Heathrow too!

    Sickening.. Oh well :(

Each residential postcode in the country is linked to one of the 76 weather stations used in the scheme. The Meteorological Office uses data from these weather stations to calculate a rolling seven day average temperature. DWP is then notified of any “triggers” so that payments can be made to eligible customers.

Every year the Cold Weather Payment legislation is amended following expert advice from the Meteorological Office about the continued availability of any weather station and whether any new stations are more suitable and should be introduced into the scheme. The Meteorological Office also consider the effect of any changes to the postcode system made by the Royal Mail and consider any representations from MPs made since the previous winter about the suitability of postcode to weather station links affecting their constituents.

Could I suggest people do not give their full postcodes? It makes it very easy for people to work out where you live (if they want to)!

You are all sharing the same heating - the money that your mum receives is more than anybody will get from CWP's, so you are not really worse off due to your living arrangements.

If you want us to check that you are receiving your correct benefit entitlement, perhaps you could start a new thread detailing what you receive?

No, you will not qualify for CWP's (unless you receive an IS top up to your CA).
