i live in harold hill RM3 which is in essex
havering atte bower is 1/2 a mile away & is RM4 it has a different station to us there station is close by, ours is in gravesend in kent!! that is almost 100 miles from us

RM4 got a cold weather payment, we didnt this seems wrong to me I have been out of work for 2 years now & have 2 kids. we had a freezing cold flat on boxing day due to having used £35 gas in 8 days then another day freezing on 27th. My mum kindly drove to us & has put on £30 of gas to see us through to next Thursday

just checked the 5 day forecast for my area & its going to drop under 0 again every day but Gravesend is forecast to get 2C for a couple of days so we will miss out again

Is there no appeals proccess to have details read from closer to home as it seems like giving lots of struggling families false hope.

I am calling the DWP on Monday to ask about what they expect us to do to keep our kids warm.

100 miles via where?! Try about 15 miles as the crow flies. My weather station is in a different county as well & I'm sure this applies to many people.

You live futher from the weather station used by RM4, so they are using a weather station closer to you.

My parents & sister live about 2 miles apart but they come under different weather stations about 70 miles apart. If either of them qualified, my sister would get several more payments a year because of this. That's just the way it is.

A line has to be drawn somewhere and there will always be those who fall just the 'wrong' side of it.

It depends what the average temperature during the whole 24 hour day is, so it can go above 0 and you can still qualify. Equally just because it drops under 0 it does not mean you will get a payment if the average temperate is above 0.

there is no appeals process no but you can always ask why.

i am on incapacity but dont get dla or any other benefits ,my ib is higher rate because i was diognosed with breast cancer i am now at the end of my chemo and things going ok but i rang the help line to ask if iqualify for cwp and i was told no as i do not get is,dla,or have no kids under5 ,surly there is some help for me out there i have 5 kids youngest 11 oldest 21 but none working all still in education im not up to speed on the benefits as i have always worked my husband worked up until i started chemo then was laid off he does not claim anything can anyone shed any light my way very much appriciated thanks for reading this xxxxxxxxx

the benefits you are on are not means tested with a disability premium so no cwp children are over 5

If you are having trouble keeping your kids warm maybe you should be phoning Social services on Monday not the DWP!

Hi just incase this helps anybody else out, I am a carer and receive carers allowance and carers premium I.S, I have no children 5 or under am not on any disability benefits for anyone living with me and have received a cold weather payment for the bb8 area on new years eve, this was a lovely bonus that I didnt expect!

I receive Income Support and a disability premium. I checked my postcode Bs9 3nb and it says that bs9 has been triggered for payment. I have checked my bank account this morning and no payment has been made. Could some one advise me what I should do, as I have had to have alot more heating on and could do with the extra money.
