So they are entitled to change the information about payouts now?? The government website said I would get £75, so I budgeted for £75. Now it seems I am only due £50. I can't pay all my bills. They said you wouldn't have to worry about keeping the heat on. OK - but now I am now having to consider begging, and looking for food in bins. This is not a joke.

To be honest you cant really rely on the cold weather payments because you dont know IF you will get them, and even if you do, when you will get them.

What are you going to do for rest of year until the CWP's start again in November? And even then it might not be cold enough in your area to trigger any.

No - I was told how many payments I would receive, not how many I might recieve.

You do not expect the government to go back on it's word, when you are living hand to mouth.

    Struggle probably.

If this is the case then maybe having a wee word with your MP about it ;) might be beneficial. The DWP can't stick up a postcode checker and it states 4 and then they only pay out 1.
    *SIGH*
    :D
  • Remember this is the Government that told us Saddam Hussein had the capability to launch weapons of Mass Destruction in 45 Minutes!

You can't believe everything they say!

Look at the fraudulent expences claims some MP's made.......by 'flipping properties!' (must be nice to have 3 houses you can call your home!)
    Oh what's the bloody point...?
  • According to postcode checker I am due 3cwp, none received as yet and I spent over an hour on the phone yesterday trying to find out when I will receive the payments. I was passed backwards and forwards between departments, 6 phone calls later I was given a specific CWP helpline number by a nice man at JCP. I rang it only to hear a recorded message telling me 'this NHS helpline is not available in your area, please contact NHS Direct', needless to say I have given up for now, will try being patient and see if the payments go into my bank before the end of the month.

    Hello Hungry Caterpillar,

Have you checked all the entitlement criteria? to make sure ou are in once of the correct groups to receive cwp.
Depending on your circumstances, there are some groups of people, where claims need to be issues clerically, rather than automatic as it should be,
