  • Hi all those who await the Scarlett Pimpernel, err.. I mean Knitted Character (they seek him here, they seek him there, they seek the ******* Knitted Character everywhere)!

    Just thought I would add my two penneth worth, I ordered a KC for my daughter on 06/12/09 and paid by Google Checkout. As with everyone else, delivery was promised before Xmas, to date it has still not arrived.

    I have sent a number of e-mails to the BMG addy and received the usual auto responders. I also sent an e-mail via Google Checkout, that was ignored.

    If the KC does not arrive by tomorrow I will be demanding a refund and I will be making complaints to Google, Mastercard, Trading Standards and anyone else I can think of.

    I advise anyone else in the same situation to do the same.:mad:

    I ordered my KC on the 23rd November via paypal and receiving this email regarding the site being busy.


    Hello there.

    Thanks for your email.

    One of our team will put down the knitting needles and reply if you query isn't answered by any of the following:

    * Delivery - lead time is currently 7 to 14 days from order but we do guarantee any orders before 15/12/09 will be dispatched in time for xmas.

    * Confirmation - your order and transaction are only confirmed if you receive an email from Paypal, Nochex or our preferred payment partner, Google. If you've had problems accessing the site or ordering and are worried that you may have placed an order by mistake, please be assured your order is ONLY confirmed when you have the order email receipt.

    * Site status@18:50 Sunday - due to the amount of traffic to the site, there have been the odd technical issue at the checkout page, as above, please look for the email to confirm your order.

    * Dispatch - when your knitted character is dispatched, you'll receive an email detailing that it has left our production department and is on it's way.

    If you've had trouble ordering recently (our site experiences a huge amount of traffic) then you can order directly through Paypal to info@harryhillknittedcharacter.com - please note your postal address.

    1 x knitted character 11.49 (VAT included)
    2 x knitted characters 22.98 (VAT included)

    Or you can pay by cheque to BMG UK LTD, Warwick Hall, Heath, Cardiff CF14 3NR - please note your postal address.

    Since then I have sent 4 emails in the run up to Christmas and have had no reply other than the automated estimated delivery dates and no Knitted charater in the post!
    I've now started a dispute with paypay to try and get my money back!

    I'm saddened to hear that more people have been let down by this terrible service just like myself. Though, it would seem that people are beginning to receive their Knitted Characters (posted on the 31.12.09). This does not justify the lies told to us but it does mean that it is not a lost cause. In addition, people on here have been given refunds by sending an email with the subject of 'UNDELIVERED' with their order number to [EMAIL="toinfo@harryhillknittedcharacter.co.uk"]info@harryhillknittedcharacter.co.uk[/EMAIL].

    It's worth noting that I am yet to receive either a refund or a Knitted Character, and am still disgusted with the situation we have all been placed in. I don't know how much success you will have with the above method but it seems to work for some.

    Good luck with that although in my experience you're wasting your time. Despite Paypal getting probably hundreds of disputes about this firm, they rejected my dispute because BMG provided 'proof of postage'. That 'proof of postage' was an acknowledgement of my order letter they sent by recorded delivery - certainly not the KC. In the eyes of Paypal that was sufficient 'proof of postage'. I've now made a complaint about Paypal to tell them how weak their system is and how this seller has exploited it.

    reading all this seems to me that there are pronlems with people who have paid via google checkout or paypal. i paid direct to their website using my debit card.

    You're brave AHM - I wouldn't trust them with my credit card details.

    It really wouldn't have been a problem however, had they simply kept their promises and delivered what people had paid them for.

    last night i recieved a email from the knitted character team after sending them countless messages. all it said was:

    i could not beleive it after all the emails i have sent them, just goes to show they dont read the emails! and i never got a response after that,

    day 34 still no knitted c or refund.

    Evening all,

    Well I am glad that a couple of the KC's have finally arrived. Unfortunately I am still waiting. Since 18th November. I first emailed for a refund on christmas eve at 4.30pm and more or less sent them one every day since. I also paid via google checkout and have sent 2 messages via that.

    Not a jot of a reply. So, they have taken my money and now not even responding to me, in my opinion is nothing but THEFT.

    YES, SALLY AND CO, THIEVES, THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE.
  • if you paid via google you can open a dispute with with them, after waiting five days if BMG has not responed to google, you can progress the claim and ask for a full refund, if again BMG do no respond google should refund your money.

    lts face it they wont respond, dont seem to respond to anything or listen to its upset customers.

    I forgot that I got a similar one yesterday. I sent them one straight back telling them I'm yet to receive anything (Item or Refund).

    Still, I suppose it's better than radio silence. Doesn't solve anything though does it.
