Evening all
Late posting, but have had a pretty good day today - which was more than needed.
My parents came down earlier, laden with goodies for christmas :j Mum bought lots of HM mince pies, christmas cake and a tea cake  We also had some pickled onions and red cabbage courtesy of dad
I don't need to toe the OS line, when everyone else does it for me
Anyway, gifts are under and around the tree and piled against the cabinet in the livingroom, so DDs are even more excited. I've done loads of wrapping and we're just counting down to the day itself.
I watched a christmas movie with DDs after my parents left, and we shared the after eightsNot sure I have any room for dinner, but it won't hurt of we have it a bit later.
I'm doing three different dinners tonight - none of which is HMbut I don't have the energy [my excuse and I'm sticking to it
]
DD1 is having spare ribs and beans.
DD2 is having fishcakes, chips and beans.
I'm having fish, chips mushrooms and onion.
All of it gets thrown in the oven, so although it's separate meals, it's not too difficult.
Hope everyone else has had a good day.

Evening!
Well its been snowy here in Yorkshire too. It was a slog up the hill to school this morning but was fairly wet snow, but the sky cleared and it had all frozen when I went to collect her-I very nearly went a over t in the playground!!!
My christmas shopping is done and all wrapped. As dd's stocking is moving downstairs (its been o her bedroom door handle before but she'll be in it when she gets up for the loo this year) I've decided I'll have one too so have bought myself some small needed things-toothbrush, veg peeler etc to keep up the pretence. I have also bought myself a lovely dark purple dressing gown from Mr S today with birthday money and wrapped it up and put the tag to myself from santa! Think perhaps I've lost it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got some nice stilton in Mr S so had stilton toasties for lunch with some spicy onion relish. We've had HM cornish pasties out of the freezer for tea with mushy peas.
DD had christmas dinner at school yesterday instead of packed lunch-slight disaster when she pointed to the christmas pudding (she'd planned to have ice cream) so got given it and took a big bite of what she had assumed was chocolate pudding!! She was very upset about the 'thing with fruit in it'!!
Lowesy belated congratulations, but sorry about the redundancy-hope something suitable comes up in the new year.July grocery- 24.40/220. NSD-1/3.

Hi people, I've only posted o here once before but you may have spotted me on a few other OS threads recently! I've been stuck at work all day today, I work 12hr shifts :-( but its nearly hometime. Today I had HM soup for lunch with a YS roll filled with Home cooked ham and HM plum chutney (my first taste of my first attempt at chutney making...yum!). Tea when I get home is a defosted portion of italian chcken I made recently with a single chicken brest portion (YS- 75p!) and managed to streeeeetch to 6 portions!!
I've just been reading about putting foil behind radiators and I think I'll give it a try. My house is a new build but as I only have the heating on for 2-3 hours aday it takes a while to heat up, hopefully foil will help!!
Only 3 more shifts for me then I'm days of and can get on with the xmas sweet making session I have planned.....mostly recipes from here (christmas pud truffles and mint chocs) but I've also 'invented' a recipe.....I have glace cherries soaking in the brandy leftover from xmas pudding making which I will be dipping in melted choc.
I'll be up late tonight so I can sleep later in the morning before my 12hr nightshift so I'll be getting the spare duvet downstairs to keep warm whe the heating goes off!!! I might get my knitting out too...OH is at work so won't be there to laugh at me having a 'pensioner moment'!!! lol!
Take care everyone
