Hi i haven't read all the replies but have to say i agree with you completely..the people who are replying with 'they are not chores' are probably men tbh!
Me and dh have bouts of things like this and i give up i really do..the only way to get help is for me to ask him which annoys me..no one asks me do they!
About 3 weeks ago i got fed up of the huuuge pile of magazines and books in our bathroom overflowing on the floor so i got them all out into piles and asked dh to sort through them, this reslutled in him saying he needed them all and that was it..up until last night they were still sitting there and i then put them in a carrier bag in the garage..we will see how long he takes to notice they have gone..the thing that annoyed me too was i asked him to clean the bathroom and he obviously cleaned round it all..he said he didnt but looked earlier and theres loads of dust behind..a job for me i guess!

The only thing he tends to do is load the dishwasher if im lucky..unloading it is my job though..thing is now it is holidays he wont get up early like he does to sort dd for school so i will end up doing it all..if i ask him before he goes he will 'be late for work' grr.

My jobs are the same as yours tbh..i work from home and have numerous kids to care for too plus dd and work 3 other jobs..thing is other than nagging im better off doing it myself..exhaustion will make him think twice i think!

Ill read the rest now and see how things are..better i hope!

Thought id'e just update as dh is sitting next to me and i read it out to him! he agreed it wasn't fair on you so i asked why i had to do everything!..he kinda looked at me with this smirk and i said 'if i decide to forget to pay the water bill or hand it over to you what would you do..equally the gas, tv licence, elec, car bills etc' he kind of looked as if to say i do appreciate what you do you know' hmm i said he just hasn't got a clue about anything like this..men!

    Still reading through btw!

I'm completely serious re. my comments about teaching. Makes no difference whether the teacher is male or female. Those saying that teaching is like any other full-time job have NO IDEA what they are talking about.

I should perhaps add that I dumped my ex-gf for presenting me with lists of chores after a hard day at work BUT, unlike the OP, she did not work at all.

The OP is probably tired too after a long and stressful day at work

It is not a competition to see who is most stressed and tired.
  • Is this man loving, kind and generous? is he patient and kind with your child? is he thoughtful and considerate in bed?

Is he in most nights or out boozing and womanising?

    What really matters?

  • At the root caue of most nagging...or the presentation of lists...she is not getting what she wants in bed.

That is not what I meant at all and you know it.

I find you very patronising and condescending.

I have a great deal of sympathy for the original poster, I was merely trying to point out what really matters.

The teaching comment is an absolute load of rubbish!!! oh dear if all he can deal with is teaching and his day ends there then i feel sorry for him! There are far more stressful time consuming jobs that people do who probably help a great deal more.

presumably you are refering to your aforementioned ex-girlfriend?

She was probably incapable of it after dealing with you.
I bet she was looking for an excuse to escape, poor woman.
