Hi binnybin, now if you and I can work that out, what kind of people are running Trading Standards? We rely on these people to look after our interests and they p*** about, refering us to different depts, local areas etc and all the while companies like this continue to fleece us. They did tell me though that since I paid with a debit card, I won't get any money back unless they go under. Since I don't believe they have done anything legit, what is the chance of that? I think they will just disappear, along with all our hard earned cash.

Hi - this statement is not true you can claim your money back from your credit card company under "misrepresentation" as SYH4Free have breached their own terms and conditions of their contract with you, i.e. not paid the 10% within the requisite period and/or completed within the requisite period, i.e. 120 days from the date the Exchange of Funds document was signed. However, you only have 3 months from the date you paid the money to them.
Hope this helps.0 -
I've reported syh4free to scambusters via the link above, it is consumer direct website who are linked to OFT.
Worth a try though you never know.0 -

not_loaded,
I paid by credit card and had a reciept - still dont think this company are ligit!
Card processing gives them apparent legitimacy; even the banks proffer that as a ‘good’ feature.
It ain’t!
Trading Standards are a well-known waste of space. Attack the scammers in such a manner as to disable them, or continue to whinge to TS????
You, as a group, should make a well-organised complaint to the card authorities. Scams like these will go on forever as long as the scammers get card processing facilities made available to them.
Talking on and on about a buyer’s name and a solicitor’s name etc, etc, will not make a blind bit of difference. Up to a few posts ago, posters were still saying ‘they may well be okay’.
With that crazily blinkered approach, it’s no wonder scams work so well.mollylorri wrote: »Would be more than willing to get together to see if we can get these sods done - Have reported this company to Trading Standards, BBC, Police, Companies House and Property Ombudsman - If you can think of any others let me know as I would like to see the F..kers done for it0 -
I tend to agree with not_loaded. Form a support group and work together.
One letter to Watchdog is no good, but 20 or 30 and they might pick the story up.
And campaigning for credit cards to act is much more likely to work if there are lots of you.0 -
How about setting a website up with your 'stories' on there to show how much of a scam this company is? It's not like they are going to sue you for liable (I know someone mentioned on here that their 'legal' man contacted them and threatened them but they are the ones ripping people off - they are not going to turn to the courts are they!).
Many people these days research on the net - a website would be a great way of putting a spanner in their works....0 -
Mollypops - wot about the sun newspaper as this is where i originally found the advert for this company?0
-
As previously stated newspapers will take ads from anyone who pays particularly in advance providing that the ad does not contravene certain basic advertising standards and conveys a contact telephone number wherever that number might actually be routed to - probably Michael Rolls cupboard under the stairs but the Sun won't care - this is not the first scam advertised and it won't be the last
I have already posted here several times about credit card transactions - if you paid these people by credit card you have section 75 protection and you need to file a claim with your credit card company NOW - if unsure about this there is plenty of info elsewhere on MSE site and forum or PM me. If you paid by debit card then contact your bank immediately and claim fraudulent transaction. Don't wait for Trading Standards to do something - they will not get your money back for you - they might just stop the activities of the company in time. If you paid by cheque then consider the small claims court - if you are on any form of benefit or tax/child credit this will cost you nothing - why not slap them with an N1 now? Some people may be close to a community legal advice centre who can help - also Citizens Advice. If you have difficulties with your card company make complaint to FOS - it will take time so all the better to start now
These people are scamsters - we all know that - don't expect any ethics or morality from them - this is precisely how they work - exploiting the vulnerabilities of all of us to get funds out of you before moving on - they have no interest in property - just in a way of getting your card details
Sorry to be blunt but for everyone who has paid these people by card you need to act and act now - bottom line - you want your money back and noone is going to give it back to you unless you do something yourself first0
