  • yes this is truemy house has been on the market for 3 yers - though i contacted them through an advert in the sun newspaper! ive just heard that a friend of mine who has also been drawn in on this scam has actually been contacted by syh4free about 10 mins ago -my friends asked for a VAT reciept - they said they would get back to them - tried phoning them back after the phone was put down - constantly engaged again! with regards to the paper work it is all very professional - my freinds solicitor checked it over and said it all sounded ligit!
  • other than myself who has actually PAID these the 1%, and have any of you been given solicitors or buyers details, if you have please PM me, ive just rang my solicitors and apparently the solicitors HAVE spoke to my buyer who, with his nephew are buying many propertys, wouldnt it be funny if someone else on here has been given the same details, ie ONE person apparently might be buying all our propertys, PM me if youve got any names as dont want to say on this forum. and rang peter stevens who couldnt here me, then hung up and has since ignored the phone twice, and michael rolls phone is switched off, and the dalton house details are intresting, for £80 ANYONE can have the address for 12 months, dalton house then forward any mail to another address, hate to say it but dont think my completion date will arrive:mad:

We've all experienced the same emotions - these are seasoned sales people who know how to press the right buttons. Michael Rolls was probably a classified ad sales guy in a previous life - they know that we all want to sell and the thought of doing it quickly at above the asking price is tempting but to those who might be tempted - ask for references, how many completed deals do they have, why is noone else doing this and why would someone pay them 10% for a property they have not even seen when they can go to an estate agent for nothing. Property investors come to you directly and will offer you 80% of the asking price if you are lucky but you know exactly where they are coming from and you have a choice plus you are not handing over money and is subject to legals anyway if you go down that right

The old saying that if it sounds too good to be true it is is perfectly valid here. The best thing anyone can do is keep lobbing in complaints to the OFT/Trading Standards to get these scam merchants stopped.

Had Michael Rolls adopted a totally different approach with me rather than the "do you want to sell your house or don't you " interrogation I might well have been tempted but no reputable agent or indeed business would speak to a potential client in that way so my suspicions were aroused

If anyone goes near this company after reading this thread then you have been warned

If numbers build in complaints then Trading Standards will be forced to do something
  • Handyman - do you think it actually might be going through then as a legit sale??? Or are u 100% sure its a scam???
Maybe there is a buyer after all? Have you shared your fears wit your solicitor and what does he/she suggest?

I asked for my buyers name etc and they said they coudnt give it to me before I paid the 1%, I was told it was for confidentiality.

I really hope all works out for everyone x I havent put too much info on here as I am afraid incase they figure out who I am and rob the house or worse but I do have lits to tell about my experience. PM me anyone and we can compare notes!!!
  • molly, pm me and I will let you know what I think, as for your question, about a week ago I thought it was legit, but after reading all this Ive got big doubts, im out of pocket in both the deposit and a survey fee I paid on a new house I was buying, hopefully my bank can refund my deposit as its been taken fraudulently and the bank may take pity on me also, heres hoping. but I got the 10% back so it seemed a real deal.

maybe all of us who have fallen into the hands of this company and have paid our 1% should join together as a group and meet up and see if we can keep legal costs down to try and do something about all of this?
Thinking logically on this, all of these scammers rely on card processing.

    I said back at #122:
An angle surely worth exploring for those who have lost money is to put strong complaints to MPs and the financial people (banks, building societies, card issuers) who allow these scamsters to trade via card transactions? These organisations say they care, but fail to act swiftly when informed. Don’t forget they get a percentage of everything!
And I still feel that’s the route to attack. It’s time the card companies stopped issuing ‘permission to defraud’ so easily.
