Mmm… SYH4F, SYH4FREE, Sellyourhouse4free, or Sell Your House For Free. Scam, scam, scam or scam?
Guys, there’s a certain assumption being made here, and that is that ‘all property sellers read this forum’. This happened on another thread a long time ago about a similar scam on Spanish property owners. That company was using ‘almost’ well known brands like First Direct in their business name.
I suspect that only a small proportion of property sellers browse here. I’m willing to bet that SYH4F, SYH4FREE, Sellyourhouse4free, or Sell Your House For Free have no problem picking up new leads every day from media of all kinds. They’d be wasting valuable scam time by trying to sway a thread like this. On the Spanish one, some really dumb morons turned up briefly saying it ‘wasn’t a scam’ but they soon disappeared.
An angle surely worth exploring for those who have lost money is to put strong complaints to MPs and the financial people (banks, building societies, card issuers) who allow these scamsters to trade via card transactions? These organisations say they care, but fail to act swiftly when informed. Don’t forget they get a percentage of everything!
Just a small point, but earlier a poster gave very specific names and details. One name (Jamie Helyer) varied in spelling between name and email address. A typo I’m sure, but be aware you may hit on someone else’s name with typos like this. If you’re naming and shaming get it right.
Keep up the bad publicity though, for SYH4F, SYH4FREE, Sellyourhouse4free, or Sell Your House For Free.0 -
If you've paid by credit card you should be entitled to refund under Section 75 of CCA - you might have to fight but you should be covered. If payment made by debit card report to bank immediately and they will start a disputed transaction and should refund you - if you encounter problems then raise a complaint with the FOS. The problem comes if you have paid by cheque and then you can always issue under small claims. However, time is of the essence - I suspect that this lot will be taking the money and running now that Trading Standards etc are alerted0

Hi everybody
have not been here for over a week now and i am really shocked and saddened by what i have been reading since i was last here. It is beyond belief that these people are still advertising and getting away with what they are doing. We count ourselves as one of the very lucky ones, like mel100. I don't understand how one person can get their 10% back of their 1% and have a completion date when there is so many on this forum who are struggling e.g - Redwood who we have not heard from for such a long time. Our thoughts are with all of you who have been taken for a horrendous ride and we hope that you all get your money back. I have no name for these people as there is not one suitable to type. Take care everybody.0 -
Im still around. Lets be realistic here. There are no completion dates. There are no buyers. Yes they give some people a solicitors name. Yes that solicitor has an instruction from a name and address supplied by SYH4Free and when it comes closer to the date the "purchasers" solicitor cannot get in touch with the " purchaser" and so tells the "sellers" solicitor that they are not taking the instruction any further because they cannot contact the buyer. Why would they? They are not going to get paid their conveyancing fees are they if there is no buyer. And so the waiting game starts again. People are paying solicitors for conveyancing fees etc and they are wasting more money because no one is going to buy their house. So it goes on and on and on. I believe the Jamie Helyer name is derived from Hillier ( D Hillier is probably his grandad, Mark his dad). Another thing I dont believe there are that many people operating but only 2 people trying to sell. ie: Jamie and Lee and Michael and Simon, I think there are only 2 people operating under different names. Even the David and the Conrad and the Mustapha I believe are one person. Would be logical woudnt it?
Not got my money yet but I wont tire of trying but I bet they will tire of me!:p:p:(

You might be right, redwood 66......in that the operation is much smaller than it seems. It probably is a family-run racket.
Has anyone noticed that so many people have googled this company with the word "scam" after it that Google automatically fills in the remaining words........reading as this: Sell Your House 4 Free Scam.
It takes a lot of hits on Google to accomplish this!
The people involved in this Sell Your House 4 Free deception obviously don't believe in karma......you know the old expression, what goes around.....0 -
If you are being bothered by these scum just suggest some legal action or advice is being taken.
SYH4Free - I would not do business with them.
SYH4Free - want mone up front. This is not howestate agents work.
SYH4Free - Very smooth talking. Know their job and that is to make you believe.
SYH4Free - offer to make your sale pain free. Thats what we all wish for.
SYH4Free - have not got any evidence that they are actually making anyone happy.Be careful whatever you do...0 -
Sorry for the dalay in reply Cazzy17, I got my 10% back after I noticed that the 14 days was up, it was a few days later, I rang them up and they said that ''he thinks he saw my cheque about to be posted'', likely story but a few days after I requested it it duly arrived, I cashed it and got some of my money back, at the moment it all seems genuine so dont know what more I can do until it either completes or dosent, theyve played the game so far with me regards to what theyve promised, so watch this space.0

hi all,
i hate to admit this ,but it looks as if i have fallen for their horrible scam.
i paid them my 1% at the end of november and was told the completion date would be the end of jan, then it went to end of feb , then may now we are at april 12th. i have been given details of the so called buyer and the solicitors details but now when i try to contact them as they promised to email the details to my solicitor and can no longer get hold of them all i get is a receptionist for the building that they are trading from- whom after a lengthy conversation suggested i contact the police. ii am soooooo cross with myself for letting myself fall in to their hands of this 'wot seems to be a horrible scam'.:mad: i contacted the metropolitan police who said they were unable to help and suggested i contacted my solicitor and they could only help when it was proved to be fraud. from what i can see they havnt really done anything wrong until the period of 120 days is up! i would love to hear from anyone who has got further than myself in this process!0 -
