a site for advice when things go wrong, not when somebody is stupid enough to cause this themselves, say on here they made a mistake and that they know the answer really, and just try to get enough people to agree that they should be conning the buyer, which we wont. the seller is wrong wrong wrong here, and if they have any dignity should refund the buyer and learn their lesson

What a load of twaddle! The OP clearly stated in the original post that they are very conscious of the buyers situation and presumably if they didnt give a sh*t in the first place they wouldnt be posting a thread! You are now suggesting the OP was trying in some way to "con" the buyer - bit harsh dont you think!! :rotfl:

  • no i dont, theyve admitted they were wrong and made a mistake so they should refund the buyer, and if they wont, that is a con.

  • Skimmed thread so may have been mentioned already, just a warning to OP. Your saying they haven't turned up purely based on the buyer saying they haven't and the RM tracking indicating they haven't arrived/been signed for right?

Be watchful, I notice this alot, especially during christmas period when temps are used for deliveries etc.. alot of recorded even signed for post just gets put through the box with no record of a signature, so on the RM system it apears as if it was never delivered but it may well have been, there's just no proof.

In short, the buyer could have the tickets, knowing they haven't been signed for, so there's no proof they arrived and simply claim they haven't turned up, get his money back and still use the tickets. Depending on the event/gig itself, you may want to check on the day of it that no ones sitting in those seats, or using those tickets, not sure if you'd be able to check at all ,especially if it was "standing" but it's something baring in mind.

    I made a mistake, whoopdedoo.

So why expect your buyer, or anyone else, to pay for your self-confessed mistake?

You asked what to do, everyone has said refund, but you don't seem to like that answer?

  • I'd ask for them to send the tickets back when they finally arrive. I'd then check to see if they were complete, or without stubs (i.e. used). If complete, refund, if not, don't.

But I would have sent Special Delivery anyway, if the value was £39+. ;)

  • I agree with the majority, you should refund the buyer.

Unless you stated that they would arrive on a certain date I dont see how anyone can suggest you are not fulfilling your obligations as a seller. If the buyer had wanted these to be delivered in some other manner then surely they should have asked.

On a more general note, the OP asked for ways to resolve the situation in hand not what people feel they perhaps should have done instead. Can never understand why some feel it necessary to point out what maybe would have been a better scenario - pointless under the current circumstances.

you would think the buyer would like them in time for the gig
are you an eBay seller? if so i can forward my ebay buyer account for you to block
  • I have had some really dodgy experiences with RM recently, I have been waiting for a week for a parcel from relatives that has christmas gifts in, but Recorded delivery at the moment is a joke as my boyfriend received concert tix that were posted recorded but shoved in a house 10 doors down and unsigned, good job he has honest neighbours. and Special Delivery is not much better either another concert ticket went missing, and turned up after going via Ireland :D

Op I would refund in full unless you are sure that they are not pulling a fast one, although if they are E tickets they can be reprinted.. but you have no way of knowing if they are pulling a fast one.. out of interest what was the concert?

I agree but if special delivery was wanted then the buyer should have requested. I can only presume the OP doesnt govern royal mail deliveries. Sarcasm was not a requirement but thanks anyway.
