Nope, not much use for me having to refund the cash either though is it?

But thats your own fault for using the incorrect postal method. If i was the buyer and they arrived after the GIG i would open a not as described dispute (as they have not arrived in time). There is quite a chance they could win too
  • Abba, you ooze class for sure must be nice being perfect.

I never said it was his fault, but looking at it objectively he could've requested next day delivery. I probably will refund him, its a case of when. I was looking for advice on if I should request the tickets be sent back to me if they arrive just to ensure he isn't pulling a fast one, or just pay it back now.

You've all been super helpful that's for sure!

You were selling you should have listed with the correct postal method to insure they got the item for the event you were advertising. Your part of the transaction includes getting the items to him on time as it is a dated event. Postal insurance is also there for your protection if they have gone missing you would have no comeback on RM as they are not insured

    Your welcome :D:rolleyes:

You made a mistake and now, unfortunately, you are paying the price. Use it as a learning experience so that it doesn't happen again.

Crusty, the postage method you use should be for your protection. RM offer no compensation for tickets apart from SD.

As the tickets have not arrived in time, I am afraid you need to refund.

Put yourself in the buyer's position....what would you want/expect to happen?

I doubt that you'd be happy to lose your money AND miss the gig because the seller failed to use the correct postage method.

Just a thought but did you photocopy them or keep the stub from paying for them??? Any details you have, would they still get into the event or not? When I sold tickets before I kept photocopies of them.

Are they number seated and do you know the number and will the box office allow entry on giving those details alone?? You obviously/hopefully still have the photos you used for the selling of them, are the details not on there?

    Worth a try.

Your lucky you didn't post on the "Consumer Rights" board OP, they would really have had you for breakfast.

Although it is very unfortunate for the buyer that they did not receive the tickets in time, surely they would not win a dispute with Paypal? If the tickets arrive, albeit late, they would still have arrived, so an Item Not Received case could not be opened. Unless it was very clearly written in the listing that the tickets would definitely arrive before the date of the event, then I don't see how a buyer would be able to make a genuine Significantly Not As Described claim. I realise that it is expected that the tickets would arrive in time, but unless it was specifically stated, then the tickets would still be as described.

I think that as a seller you should do what your conscience tells you to do. Issuing a refund would be a nice thing to do. It may also be the difference between you receiving a neutral and a negative feedback.
