After watching the news before & hearing BA cabin crew are the highest paid? Then they are complaining about having a cut back to 14 staff per flight instead of 15.
OMG wake up BA cabin crew there's a lot more who've gone through more than that!
They're not getting my support on this!
They don't seem to care or have thought long and hard about the heartache and pain that they will cause & will continue to cause to all those people who want to travel with BA over the Christmas period to be with family & friends!
I think they are selfish and striking and causing normal people heartache is not the answer!
Especially at Christmas!
Luckily I've not booked a flight but feel for those that have!0 -
Shame on you Ba Cabin staff. there are a lot of people who would be glad of your job.I hope this is the last straw for you.0

I am amazed at the size of the turnout in the vote and the margin in favour of strike action. 80% and 9 to 1.
The staff must be mightily cheesed off to go down this road, as it could be the nail in the coffin of BA. So will it be a case of cutting of their noses to spite their faces? We all evolve - get on with it0 -
I'd say more a case of slitting their own throats to spite their facesFour guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

my DD (14) due to travel on boxing day(within uk) alone BA are the only airline on this route that let her travel alone without an escort.
The flight was well priced but its now going to cost more with a different airline but to a different london airport so extra expenses will be incurred...will there be compensation as well as a refund? Am thinking of a new one:beer:0 -
So is it only Heathrow based BA flights striking ?
Not exactly. I have heard that a lot of Gatwick staff are against the strike and will therefore be working. However, BA will most likely place some of them in Heathrow during this time to be able to provide a limited service from both airports.
I also heard that they will be trying to keep as many long haul flights in place as possible, and merge (and cancel) the smaller, short haul flights as it is easier.
They will be releasing amended schedules asap and contacting people etc. Another flight is no good for me as I have to be back in Amsterdam before Monday 28th Dec!
I've decided that I will wait until they announce revised schedules and then make my decision from there. This may mean I book another flight with EasyJet and simply lose the money from the original booking. Thankfully it wasn't too expensive. Still annoying though, but I'm not willing to take the chance of my flight being cancelled at last minute and not being able to get another flight.
What a mess. Thanks to this, they'll all be out of a job soon as I won't be booking with BA again if I can help it. It's a shame as I have always received good customer service, but I obviously cannot rely on them, at all!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Unlikely, I'd have thought. Companies usually cite strike action as "circumstances beyond our control" when the issue of compensation arises.
Yeah, chances of compensation are very slim. Whilst they should, theoretically, compensate us all, there is a loophole they use to get around this which means that, in reality, they pay out very rarely.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hi All,
I'm booked to fly on 30 Dec with BA into Gatwick but don't have travel insurance. Silly me for cutting costs end up paying more!
Can I take out an insurance policy now and still be covered for flight cancellation? Or is it a simple case of -
1. They don't cover cancellations due to industrial action, and/or
2. As I knew about the possibility of industrial action at the time of taking out the policy, any claim for cancellations would be denied.
Any input would be very much appreciated.0
