Haha! Fair enough.
I have to get back though. Gotta work on Monday 28th. What a pain. I don't even have the option of cancelling now and rebooking to be sure. Well, I can, but then they won't refund me.
Arghhh, I hate this!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Just logged into BA's webiste and it says the following:
We are aware that Unite, the trade union that represents British Airways' (BA) cabin crew, has announced that its strike ballot has closed with a vote in favour of industrial action between December 22, 2009 and January 2, 2010.
We are currently reworking our flight schedules for the strike period and aim to announce them as quickly as possible.
Our intention is to inform affected customers directly if we have their e-mail address or by SMS text if we have their mobile phone number.
We will use the contact details supplied at the time of booking, so we ask customers to please ensure these are correct and up-to-date:
For those affected may be worth making sure your details are up to date

I have a flight to USA booked on 27th Dec with BA so looks like I'm screwed, have just spoke to STA Travel who I booked through and they were no help at all, so far all they have said is that standard cancellation fee's apply and I should call back in a few days to see if anything has changed :mad:0

Yep, same here. We've booked to fly to India on 28th December. I managed to get through to BA and asked for a refund as there are still flights to Chennai available with other airlines on the same day which would mean that we wouldn't lose the money we've already paid in airport car parking and the cat-sitters wouldn't be messed around. The woman was hopeless, she said that as far as they were concerned the flights would still be going ahead and no refunds would be available.
Spoken to the credit card company who weren't aware of the situation but suggested we sit tight and see what was happening a couple of days before the scheduled take-off.
The BA website has been updated and apparently we can change our flights at no additional charge however the window for disruption is between 22nd December and 2nd January and for 48 hours on either side, which, in effect would mean that we could to fly out this week but we'd have to pay for additional travel insurance as the policy doesn't kick in till 27th and we'd have to let all our family and friends we've booked nights out and accepted party invitations to.0 -
My mum's return ticket from Glasgow on the 29th is affected, tried to ring them up to get the return flight changed but lines are busy (surprise surprise) and I've been told to ring back later.Payment a day challenge: £236.69
Jan Shopping Challenge: £202.09/£250

What a day. I get a phone call at work this morning to find out my wife has slipped and dislocated her shoulder so I rush off to hospital and on our return we hear about this strike.
We were supposed to fly out on the 22nd Dec to Vegas for Christmas. I'm so very disappointed.
Oh well, no point moaning about things I can't change.0 -
Yet all the BA fanboys criticise Easyjet et al for cancelling flights!
The unions are absolutely inexcusable - BA are struggling to survive and this is hardly going to help! From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -
Oh LDR sorry to hear about your poor wife, hope she's okay.
Apparently the BA cabin crew earn twice the amount that Virgin crew get (between £26-35,000).0 -
I have just heard the news that BA cabin crew plan to strike during the christmas period!! I think it is disgusting, apparenly the cabin crew are the highest paid? Why are they holding travellers to ramsom? I hope they have thought long and hard about the heartache and pain that they have and will continue to cause to all those people who want to travel with BA over the christmas period I think they are selfish and it is a cowardly way of expressing their differences, striking and causing normal people heartache is not the answer!0
