If your travel dates are booked and holding a ticket on a BA mainline flight between 20Dec and 04Jan you can rebook (subject to availability) to another BA mainline flight to/from that destination within 12months now.
Just ctc your travel agent or back to BA if you booked via BA.

As mentioned a refund will only apply if the flight is actually cancelled - can't say yet when that will be purely because I dont know - sorry

so, right now, before any cancellations are announced, we're able to call and get a free date change?
And only once the cancellations HAVE been announced can we get a refund.
So, therefore, After the cancellations are announced, and my flight is NOT cancelled, do I still qualify for a free date change?
Or would it be in my interest to go ahead now quickly and get the date change before i miss my chance
    Be kind to all moneysavers

If your flight operates, no refunds and no date changes, so if you want to change dates do so now before the mist clears.

I would assume if it's not being cancelled but it's still within the strike period, you probably can change? If you have a flexible ticket, you can change anytime. Mine is a non-flexible (is that a word?) ticket, and before the strike action was announced, I was told it would cost me about 100 GBP to change my return date alone (long haul).

So is Cyprus long haul? We go with BA but return with Easyjet.

No, Cyprus is not long haul. It will be considered short haul.
    February wins: Theatre tickets
  • I'm planning on booking a flight to new york on Friday with BA to travel in feb, think it's a bad idea?
  • If it's a nonchangeable ticket like I had you can change the dates NOW IF you are flying during the strike dates OR 48 hours either side. As I was the day before going and the day after coming back I thought it would be less hassle eventually to just change them now. And I get extra 4 days which really suits me.

Honestly, I don't know. I haven't heard anything of another strike planned for Feb but that doesn't mean they definitely won't.

  • So where do you stand if you use your ticket out but can't use it coming back (because of the strike dates)?

We've made alternative arrangements with a different company for the return, (by train).

As it stands Gatwick Longhaul flights should be unaffected.

At present Gatwick Shorthaul flights are closed for sale pending further information.

Heathrow flights Longhaul/Shorthaul are being examined but presently all closed for further sales between 22Dec-02Jan.

Flights to/from London City airport are unaffected.

Also Codeshare flights which may have a BA flight number but are actually operated by another partner carrier will operate.

There is a rebooking policy in place - details on the ba website

However there will be no refunds issued until a flight is actually cancelled - and as yet that info is still to be determined.

Hope this info helps a little

    Hi
This infomation is very useful, do you mind if I ask how you have access to this or can you not say- I am just being over causious?
I too am flying long hall (Orlando too) from Gatwick on the 26th but with a connecting internal BA Flight from Glasgow- from what you are saying it is this that is at risk.
May need to start and look at trains or hiring a car to get to Gatwick!
    Thanks for your help
