    Payments over bank holidays

From time to time, your normal payment day may fall on the same day as a bank holiday. This will often be a Monday, but not always. When this happens, you'll get your payment on the last working day before the bank holiday. So if the bank holiday is on a Monday, you'll get your payment on the Friday before.
This happens for all tax credits payments across the whole of the UK, even if a bank holiday only applies in one part of the UK. For example, Monday 12 July 2010 is only a bank holiday in Northern Ireland. All tax credits customers in the UK who are usually paid on a Monday will get their payment on Friday 9 July 2010.
You can check the table below to see if your payments will be affected by bank holidays. If they will be, you can see the date when you should get paid.
  • Hi everyone,

Right i got the paper you get regarding early Job Seekers Allowance payments over the Christmas/New Year period. I don't sign on again until Mon 11th Jan.

    The paper says:

    Expected Issue date
    23/12/2009
    11/01/2010

So as you can see, i have a payment issued today. When should this be in my bank account? Am i right in thinking Tues 29th December?

I got confused thinking the expected issue date meant it would be in my account today - however i presume that is the date it's sent to the bank is it? As i read further and it says i should recieve the payment 3 working days after the issue date shown.

Is the issue date the date it's sent to the bank?

I was due to get my IB next Wednesday (not a bank holiday IIRC) but I got it today. Nice Xmas present but I will just have to budget a bit better over the next few weeks!

Absolutely! I just checked. Why bother to put that down if they don't give the payment days:confused:. My SP is due to be paid into my bank on 25th December so I guess I'll get it on the 24th?
