Christmas Benefit payment queries [merged]

This thread is confusing. I am due incapacity benefit on the 25th, i thought i'd be getting it on the 23rd? But is it in fact going to be the 24th?

I agree since the thread has been merged it has become confusing! My posts regarding payment dates are for tax credits. There doesn't seem to be anything on the direct.gov website at the moment regarding any other benefits.

i am due payment on 25/12/09 so phoned BDC who have said my money will be in bank on 23/12/09 as the post office closes early on the 24/12/09 and they will have to many payments to cash on that day.

Hi, new to this, please be kind lol!!

I have just come off the phone to the I.R.

Payments made by Giro Cheques on Christmas and New Year's day will be paid as follows:

Christmas day payment due 25th should be received on or before the 23rd.

New Years day payment due 1st should be received on or before 28th.

It used to be so much easier when benefits were paid by payment book at the Post Office, if your benefit was due on a bank holiday you could cash it the week before. So a payment due on the 25th could be cashed on the 18th. It's much more confusing now with some paid by giro, some direct into the bank etc.

My carer's allowance & child benefit are due on the 28th (bank holiday) so I think it'll be in the bank on the 24th?

I was just wondering when my carers allowance will be paid?? I am with Think Bank they always pay my carers allowance early on saturday instead of monday ... Also monday being a bank hoilday they also pay in my mums pension and my income support early normal the saturday .. so I am thinking on the 24th Dec i could end up with my carers allowance income support and mums pension all being paid early .. :eek: ... Confused i am .. Just looked the same could apply the following week as well ???? bieng new year

i have always had my benefits paid early and every year they say you should get it this date. I think it depends on what bank you bank with. i get carers allowence and should get it paid into me account on a monday but i get it on a sat.
I would just advise people that can 2 keep checking there bank account. i have online banking so i check every day. lol

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me.

My usual signing day is the 25th (this month), obviously this falls on a bank holiday so I am excused until the 8th Jan. However does anyone know on what day I will get my JSA?

I have been told it could be the 23rd or 24th, normally it would be around the 29th/30th I think. It paid into my Post Office Card Account if that helps?

Thanks, that is the trouble I am having. I called the local JobCentre but they said I have to look online, and the info online is useless...
