Christmas Benefit payment queries [merged]

Im due my benefits on 29th Dec and 30th Dec, will these payment dates change due to xmas?

Ive had a look on the forums i cant find anything specific?

Its Income Support and DLA due on those days

    they are both normal bank days so no you will get paid as normal

    All benefits are paid early every Bank Holiday/Easter/Christmas/New Year.

    not true they are being paid ont the normal days this year except those that fall on christmas day will get it on christmas eve and thsoe that fall on new years day will get it on new years eve i rung up to check

    It may be that way where you are but I know that here all payments due up to the 30th are being paid on the 23rd.

    My tax credits due 29th being paid on 23rd. Althought the pymt date isn;t a bank holiday the days before are so this is the earliest possible date my tax credits can be paid.

    Friday 25th BH Sat and Sun (weekend) Monday 28th BH (boxing day falls on a sat so BH on the monday after)

    Tax credits payment dates.

    25th December 2009 (Xmas day) Date your payment will be made 24th December 2009
    28th December 2009 (bank holiday) Date your payment will be made 24th December 2009
    29th December 2009 (NI ONLY) Date your payment will be made 24th December 2009

    1st January 2010 (New Year's day) Date your payment will be made 31st December 2009
    4th January 2010 (Scotland ONLY) Date your payment will be made 31st December 2009

    Sorry, jamespir tis true - the DWP Secretary of State is required to ensure that payments are made on time by the normal payment method.

    All benefit payments have been, are being, and always will be paid in advance at this time of the year. This is because banks, PO's and DWP/JCP are all closed for up to 4 days, and on different days in Engalnd & Scotland.

    notice in local post office my payday is the 25/12/09 paid 23/12/09 Dla payday 30/12/09 paid 30/12/09 asked dla they said this is correct as the30th dec is a normal bank working day
