probably he will have something to say about it:D personally I wouldnt refund his postage back - would depend on circumstances etc - but I would also make sure the phone is as sent - whether he has done [STRIKE]much[/STRIKE] any damage to it:D and that all security markings, imei numbers etc match up
I'd personally take it to an Apple store myself, so they can if it has been badly jailbroken or what.0 -

Yes, Fortunately I did take down all Serials and the Phone IMEI's before posting it. It's the first thing I'll do.
I reckon he's changed his mind, Showed it of to his mates for a bit and he's used it for 2 weeks, decided he shouldn't of spent that much money so invented some fault.
Will be interesting to see if I get the same problem as him when I stick my O2 sim back in.razorbladekisses wrote: »Wait until you receive the item back before doing anything.
Yep, Will do.scottishmickey wrote: »DONT refund until item with you. I dont think you have to pay return postage but if he gets refund then you may have to pay back the original postage from when you posted it to him.
Hope it arrives in one piece with nothing been purposely broken! Oh and get it checked out before refund!
Good Luck!
Yes I'm thinking of getting it checked before refunding, got a O2 shop locally though I haven't got a Apple Store for about 25 or so miles.0 -

Once he puts the tracking number into Paypal they would refund him anyway. So you'll have to refund anyway so waiting is a bit pointless really0 -
O2 normally send to the Apple store in the event of a problem... same result, just takes slightly longer. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

Not necessarily, If item is not in the condition it was sent I'm going to dispute it. If the phone has been tampered with I will get a report to submit to PayPal.
By the way cyberbob you mentioned FVF still have to be paid, but that's not true, as long as I go thorugh the resoultion centre and refund him 80% plus of the original payment I get a refund.;)0 -
Also, if it has been jailbroken badly, I'd get a written report from the Apple engineers if at all possible.0

Hopefully he will not send it trackable then you will have time to get it checked out before contacting him. If knackered (tecknical term for jailbroke) I'd be tempted not to have received it. Not morally correct I know.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Hi!
Sorry to hear about the nightmare buyer! Please name and shame this buyer when the matter is resolved as I don't want this muppet bidding on any of my items on ebay!
Hope the matter gets resolved ok :-)0 -
Can I just clarify here Its a very very rare case where a jailbreak cannot be reversed.
I think some people need to realise that jailbreaking is just a term for changing the phone's software so it can run 3rd party apps and accept other carriers, it does not render the phone useless and resetting the phone to factory settings is as simple as plugging it back into itunes and updating it.
Jailbreaking is not illegal, and needs a minimal amount of technical knowledge. You cant 'badly jailbreak' something you can either jailbreak it or not. Bricked iphones are also easily fixable.
