Hopefully the OP won't receive an empty box back with no iPhone. Buyer can prove he returned said iPhone yet just returns an empty box. In this instance PayPal would rule in the favour of the buyer I believe :(
  • Not if the weights don't match I think.

As peter said if the weights don't match you can prove that to paypal. Paypal shut that loophole a long time ago

Hi everyone, Thanks for the replies, I have been really busy with some other problems (not having a good month) . I have received phone back, all seems OK but I will update fully later 2day or 2mrw. Thanks.

Take it to the Apple shop. If it is indeed faulty as others have said they will swap it and you will have abrand new iPhone to sell :)
However if it isn't faulty, issue a partial refund to the buyer and state why you are doing this. Don't refund and carriage, he had time to post it back but not go for a swap in the Apple store, bullchute.

Thats just pointless and stupid as all that will happen is Paypal will refund him anyway. You'd just be making more problems for yourselves

Retailers charge restocking fees if items are returned for no reason other than it wasn't wanted.
I have been stung by buyers before thinking they could just say it was faulty and then return an item before. I did issue a refund but only partially, less my fees. Admittedly that was before Paypal started being anti seller rights.
So ye sit may be pointless now but certainly not stupid.
